I could probably find this in a help file somewhere... but I'm lazy and don't want to go looking for it

What does it actually mean to get "pinked" besides your message getting highlighted as a pink background???

Ron Lund

Ron just posted a link to some videos on youtube about how to use their new swash leveling tool. I picked on up recently and am highly impressed with it. His videos show you how to install and use the device. Do a quick search and it should show up...

That appears to be for a flybar locking tool, not a swash leveler. Useful anyway though.

Wrong

It is definately a swash leveling tool!!! One of the best and most universal to boot! This system is very accurate!

Of course it won't work on a flybarless machine.

How is that a swash leveler? All it does it lock the flybar down. It does not even connect to the swash. If it does indeed level the swash I may be interested in one.

Edit: I just read through the linked posted. So it does level the swash. Very interesting! I had always thought it was only a flybar lock.

Just because the Raptor is a dinosaur, it doesn't mean you have to go all Stone Age on it with a bulldog clip and an allen key! LOL!

Ahem - Excellent use of what I'd call everyday items.

The idea did not originate from me. The original post utilized zip ties to secure the allen wrench. Sorry I do not remember who had the original post, But it works great as long as you don't mind removing the rotor head.

Well you still have to remove the head for many of the other swashplate levelers so its not so bad relatively speaking.

DSW... That Clip is a significant upgrade over the zip-tie.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

The beutty of the allen wrench swash levelor, is that is will work on any size heli, eliminating the need for a specific tool for each.

My thing with allen wrench is that when you rotate it to check the other connecting points I am afraid it may shift up or down some and distort the results. Thats just me being OCD though.

...possibly. However, the mainshaft should rotate freely and hopefully the bulldog clip grips the allen key and the shaft securely enough so that it doesn't move relative to the mainshaft.

Oh yea good point. For some reason I was thinking that the wrench would have to rotate around the shaft and that the shaft was stationary. haha
