Hi Shane, yes i did use the stock hub,i altered the taper to fit the Zenoah engine and shortened the hub to give 120mm from flat engine base to top of fan hub deck.(without the clutch fitted.I used an allen bolt to secure the hub which fits inside the lower clutch shoulder. This is a help when checking clutch run out as you can leave the clutch in place and tighten the bolt through the centre and make fine adjustments to run out by slowly rotating the hub.

Hi Mike
I've been watching your progress this week with interest and I have to say very nice job, I think two side mounts for the engine wouldn’t go a miss but it’s looking good so far.

Hi Peter.I think you are right about the extra engine brackets,i will fabricate some when i get back to the workshop on Monday.A friend dropped me some nice carbon fibre plate so i will get rid of the alloy base plate.Still have some loose ends to tie up(Not that loose i hope)need a few bolts of the correct length for the pull start ect as i had to space a couple of them for now.Been a long day today.

I like mine set at -5 +10, the weight brings the Heli down quick enough

Im with you on that Peter,i dont want too much negative at the moment either on an untested heli,it will probably come down quick enough on its own

Does anyone have any experience setting up 140 degree ccpm with Futaba 7C TX.It came to test flight time, double checked all interactions for swash alongside the manual for the Vibe set up the 7c using H3 swash type as recommended. All servos operating in right planes for given inputs. When the Heli goes light on the skids it feels as though the cyclic movements have no relation to the swash, even though visually everthing is operating in the right direction but the mixing is all to hell.Am i missing something simple here?I checked the transmitter to see if there were any unwanted mixes influencing the response but cant see anything.I know from the feel that an attempt to take off would be a disaster.

I thought you could set the vibe up to either 120 CCPM or 140 CCPM. I think if you move the swash plate connections in on the front two links you get 120 CCPM?

Hi Vince

I have the shorter links fitted to take it to the 120 degree set up but ran out of time to try it yesterday,i am going to see if i have more success this time.I have dusted off some old Kalt floats as a precaution(As in wide footprint) as i dont need a wreck at this stage.Just cant get my head round why the 140 is a problem though.

I am not sure why it would be that different. I know that in the DX7 you can do some programming to make of the difference between 120 and 140 CCPM. Check and double check your set up. I am sure someone else out there can tell you the difference between the two set ups.

In my 7c manual it uses a different swash set up for 120 degree ccpm,HR3(i think) rather than H3 for 140 ccpm.I will try the 120 set up first to see if that gets over the problem for now.I will go over the Tx set up again but im sure that is ok.I have never had any experience with 140 ccpm but i cant think that it would be much different to 120.I used 3 9202 servos on the swash so no mismatch.

The 9202 will do the trick they use less power than a digital but don't center as well. They are at the low end of touque so don't over stress them.

9202

I will upgrade the servos if i decide to keep this heli.Have just reset the swash to HR3 120 degree with the shorter 4mm balls. Will have to see how it feels with this set up now.

140 ccpm

Hi, I had a similar experience with my vibe 90 when I used a ff9 tx, There was a mix that improved the swash reaction, but in the end the best option was to fit a csm cyclock and let it do the business.
I now have gone to jr 2.4 ghz and find it much better, with better resolution, servo synch, 140 mix as standard, and far better "feel" with no interaction.
Just my honest opinion

140 and 120ccpm are established during the build. Page 14 in the manuel Shows T-lever either 120 or 140ccpm. And so on.

Vibe 90

Well got the Vibe in the air today, the 120 ccpm works fine, gyro needs a bit of fine tuning as a bit of wag present, but otherwise good.
