It is amazing how easy they do bend back into position though.

Great tips, and his will save me a few bucks, and time..

Ive got one for you guys:

So I broke out the 22 ounce eastwing, and a chunk of 2x4, and smacked the slightly bent shaft. Well,,,,,,,,I must have hit it to hard, as I re-bent it 2 times as bad, in the oppisite direction.

I did practice for a bit doing it, and I found, light tapping, and alot of checking, really works. I used a black sharpie, and marked the high spots, and went to town, and I have pretty good looking shafts now..
Good one Brian! Now, if you go back and re-read my first reply in this thread you will relate to the "light taps" part!

It's good information for new to the hobby folks to know that these shafts can be straightened very well if they need, or desire to do so.

Ok, Im going to give a completly honest answer, based on straightning bent main shafts with a anvil.

I have just spun up, and seen no different motions during spool up on the ground, and im still able to idle up, at half stick, while on the take off pad. with a very solid set up.

During flight, the helicopter needed a slight trim correction, which is in my mechanical set up, and so far, hoverd great. Im flying with a buddy today at 2:00 pm. So I will give a further update, for FF flying then.

Stay tuned.

Brian, it will be fine if it rolled straight when you finished straightening it. I also check for straightness (even new shafts) by chucking in a drill motor and spinning them to speed.

Only shaft I straightened was the first I bent when my MT was new and I didn't have parts in stock. The shaft was fine until crash #2.

Like I said earlier, if I couldn't find parts in stock I would have no problem with flying straightened shafts.

checking for straightness

Roll on piece of glass ( mirror, picture frame glass, glass coffee table etc)through one revolution with one index finger on each end. lf it`s not straight by even one thou at some point in the 360 degrees you will be able to rock it. lf it`s straight you wont.

Funny TOSH!!

I was able to idle up and fly today. The shaft acted and flew like a brand new main shaft.

There was a pro 600E pilot there today, and he also said that this Mini Titan is as stable as his 600, the way I have it set up.....

I have had two hard blade strikes, one that folded my tail boom and both times my spindle shaft and main shaft checked out good.
