The shadow on the underside of that 450 is pretty dam cool Mark.

A shot of a buddy flying his 700. You can read the "Align" on the head block!

I would vote for Mark's shot of the new 450 as well. The one with the shadow on the disk is great.

Here is my late submission. This is a shot of Alan Austria at the Port Charlotte Event flying his Compass Knight 600E in the 3D competition. Cool sun reflections from the hologram blade stickers.

This shot was taken with a Canon EOS 50D and a Canon 70-200 f4.0 USM L Series Lens at a 1/200 shutter speed and f14.0 aperture with ISO 100.

McCoy,
Thanks, because of you I ordered blade effects. Great picture.
Now I have to go explain this to the wife. Hopefully she likes your picture as much as I do.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Yeah! I thought it was cool looking. While he was flying at certain angles the sun would hit the blades just right and it would shine.

I just kept following him waiting for when I thought he was going to hit the angle and I would snap away. I had some more shots of it but this was the best because you could see the full flame image. I thought it was weird that on the disk on the left side of the picture the flames are cut in half. Maybe just the curvature of the blades kept the sun from hitting it just right.

No photoshoping on this image other than cropping, slight level adjustments and a small increase in saturation levels. This is how it came out on the camera. I'm definately going to try and capture this again next time I see someone flying hologram type stickers.

Wow! the best month of photos so far guy! So many excellent shots to choose from - I had to pick a favorite, but they are all fantastic. I am listing the top 5 cause these were very close in ranking:

#1 congrats to Mark Ryder - first place for March '09. The low, in-your-face inverted heli ROX! Rotor disk blur and shadow make it.

#2 RealMcCoy - love the blade reflections

#3 Mike Bilyk - fantastic night shot

#4 emag - with the awesome background and cool flight position

#5 phil - this shot is super sharp and the cloudy sky background is sweet
