16T

Man...you guys are crazy

that 16t must SCREAM!

I am only flying the 15t and it makes MORE than enough...lol..

I am still getting 4 minutes of flight ..plus packs and motor are cool...of course ambient temp here is only 30's or low 40's now

That looks like it makes great power though Casey...nice flying too bro...good job...

I am LOVING this motor setup:)

I finally got the Gaui Pinion to hold perfect so I have been getting some thrash flights on this little guy...

This Scorpion with a 15t and 100% flat curve seems to make great power and gets about 4 minutes of flight time...

LOTS of power...

update:

Well, I decided to give the motor another try instead of selling it.

Slapped a 15T on instead of the 16T. Bumped my T/Cs up to 100% flat across the board. Set the timer for 4:00 and flew 3 packs before the rain came today. I'm charging now so we'll see what the flights reveal as far as power used.

Performance wise, its abit more powerful than the stock motor on a 16T. I did bump my collect range up from +/-10 to 11 which helped alot with the lack of snap.

I can tell that the motor has alot more torque than the stock motor because when I was doing some collective pumps and punch outs, the tail was torquing to the right a little. But I expect that.

On a good note!

I messed around with the Gov settings on my Scorpion 25ESC. The ESC's Gov function has 6 settings. (1-3) are less sensitive to holding the rpm but less harsh on the packs. Settings (4-6) are more sensitive to RPM hold and utilize the brake function to maintain the H/S more accurately.

Judging by the sound of the blades during flight and the performance, I had good luck with setting (3) which is (hard). Either way, I like the Gov setting on this ESC alot. It holds the H/S very well.

Pitch...

I never use a pitch gauge on these little guys...I fly and try I keep adding pitch until I get bogging...but if I were to guess....I would say I am running at least 13 or 14 degrees on mine...

and it hauls AS$....

On a side note...I am running almost 15 degrees on my TRex 500 flybarless setup...It moves a Hell of a lot faster than it did at 10 or 12

Ink, how are you liking that Mini-G? I have a friend who recently put one on a brand new 700 and it let-go and crashed on the maiden flight. Not saying it wasn't setup correctly, because that is a possiblity. How does it hold with alot of torque on the tail? I'm running a Spartan on my 700 and works great! Was just considering the Mini-G for the 250...

the mini-g works great on all mine i love it and the way it feels. i flew at a field in omaha ne last weekend and there was a guy there with one in his 700 and he loved it as well.

you need to make sure the gain is at least 90% on the 700. maybe what happened to him not sure.

ok, thanks ink.

Btw, the rain stopped. I just got back from another 5 flights. Holy Cow what a machine. The increase in pitch (as long as you can manage it smoothly) was amazing. I don't have any idea what the pitch is, I imagine its around 14-15 degrees. I did bog it a few times and the tail kicked around on me but I handled it. Wow, for those of you guys running pitch around 10-11, go ahead and bump it up. If your motor can handle it, you'll be smiling, I know I am!

Hate to say I told you so....but what the hell...I told you so

Glad to hear you are happy as well....

I knew something had to be wrong if you weren't getting ballistic performance

I just ordered a bunch of the Venom pinions, hope they work, I have a HK2208-3600 on order and might try the 4660 too? They both handle the same Watts just thought it might sound ferocious, with the 4660 on 3S!

Venom pinion tip...

I don't have my Venom pinion mounted upside down. I preferred to mount it right side up. The pinion is as far down on the shaft as it would go. Once in place, I hacked off the top of the motor shaft flush with the top of the pinion to clear the lower airleron servo.

Only trick to this was to lower the motor so the grub screw would clear the main gear. I installed 2ea. small washers underneath the motor mount but ontop of the motor to space the motor correctly. Works great!
