New Titan SE

This new stuff for the Raptor rocks, plain and simple! The Raptor 50 will continue to be a fantastic helicopter for new pilots as well as seasoned pilots. I'm very happy to see Thunder Tiger stepping their tried and true design up a notch right out of the box. I haven't really understood the fuss about turning the Raptor 50 into something different. With a good aftermarket head (kasama), it flies as well as any other in it's class. Now it looks to me like Thunder Tiger is basically giving us just that in one neat little package. They did exactly what I hoped they would do. Way to go Thunder Tiger!!

Ace Hobby... Looks good, I have a birthday coming up, I'll take the up-grades with a red canopy and paddles, they'll look good on the Titan I got for my birthday last year.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

Will the parts for the SE be available in Toledo at the show?

People waiting for upgrades? I think every upgrade in this kit is available on line rite now.If you like the R50,buy a Titan Kit a Kasama Head&PV0499 tail hub and your flying in style.I like this kit but 3/4 of those upgrades are eye-candy which do not enhance any preformance aspects of the R50 in the least. This is a great helicopter but TT has not changed a thing.

Zac,

Where can I find these? Let me know as these are the bits I want for upgrading.

1)4mm freewheel drive (I've sheared 3mm bolts)

2)dual 3mm head drive/retention (I've snapped these too even with AM clamp up heads)

3)locked top threaded pinion for past troublesome bearing area (worn the pinion at the bearing seat also)

4)new flybar carrier with inboard mixers(3mm more inboard I've heard,
been rednecked already)

5)special TT dampers in stream lined structure(infinavation maybe?)

6)special roll belcranks are super secure with their output rotated 90 degrees, just like the balls on the mixers and pitch links.(makes perfect sense to me and they say it adds throw/reduces binding before the swashplate)

7)special head assy designed as a system specifically (not adapted from some other version) for the raptor by the guy who designed the thing in the first place. Everything is no bind and no rub even at full 15/15 throw-I've asked around.(they have to out do the aftermarket stuff and they did enter manufacture later after they were done, thus giving a clear advantage)

8)new non crush and chafe-proof plastic boom support

The shiny after market heads out there have binding issues at high throw (if they are even capable), and we are so dumb we are lining up at the door. (myself inclusive)

This head looks to be strong, smart, high throw, and light weight, plus it can be assembled with +/- delta with no fiddle farting or reversed blade bolts. At least I know with the new TT stuff that a more focused design quality, parts supply and modeler acceptance are to be expected.

I've been studing the new manual and pictures very carefully and using a bit of thought I don't think you can acquire the same standard yet in aftermarket bits.I'm going to wait until someone has one first and it gets pounded before ordering mine, just like I always do. When the dust settles the truth will be known about the unique changes in question. You are too quick to 5hit on a good thing without any real facts.

Given what happened to the Knight... I am guessing he is happy that he did NOT have a Titan SE flying yet.

At Toledo they are saying mid June for the kit to be on the shelves.

One mile of road will take you one mile. One mile of runway will take you anywhere in the world.

What were you selling the old Titan for 3 months ago?

That's $400 USD but then again you typically get raked over the coals down under

Which would be cheaper in the long run, buying a new Titan SE kit w/o motor, or buying the upgrades to upgrade an existing Titan?

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

It's normally cheaper to buy a kit.
