This helicopter is so much fun to fly. I was not sure i would like it as much as my raptors. They have not seen much fuel in the last three weeks. This is my first ccpm heli, and i can tell you that i really like this thing. It so damn easy to fly that some of the guys at the field think that i know what i am doing, but i know better. Think i'll keep her.

Check your Tail Drive shafts

I was getting some odd noise from the tail drive of my Frenzy. I was thinking maybe the bearings were getting notchy. So I removed the tail drive setup to find this........

The top bearing was wearing a groove into the tail drive shaft. This is not the first time I have seen this. Century Hawk/Ravens have the same issue with their counter gear shafts. The problem is that the shaft is just a little too small for the inner race so the shaft spins inside the race rather then the shaft and race spinning together. So make sure you keep an eye on this. If left unattended too, it is quite possible for that to wear away enough that it will snap off.

The solution with the Hawk/Ravens was to red lock-tite the inner bearing race to the shaft. I would suggest you do this. Just make sure you have it installed before the red lock-tite sets up. Also, be very careful to NOT get ANY of the red lock-tite in the bearing. You wont have a bearing that spins anymore .

I finally had a chance to get a few flights in on the frenzy, mostly tuning the tt53 in though, some loops and rolls. My 2 cents worth is it tracks very well in flight, as far as the loops and rolls, for the stock flybar and paddles it's got decent speed, not bad at all. I did have a crash on the 3rd flight, it was about 15 feet in the air and on its side, and wouldnt correct, slamed in the ground pretty good. I really thought this bird was going to be a loss, but on inspection only needs a flybar, feathering shaft, landing gear, all 4 canopy mounts were bent, the tail boom was bent, and a few cracks in the canopy, really surprised how well it did for how hard it hit. As for the cause of the mishap, I did'nt find any failures on the heli it self, thinking maybe the canopy caught one of the swash ballinks. The crash itself is only costing about 60 bucks, half or that is a new canopy, which I just ordered to give it a paint job, the original I just repaired with fiberglass.

Im really thinking about getting one of these and been hearing about the parts being super cheap. I took a quick look at the prices and didnt see any big price difference with the 600n parts except for the frames. Unless Theres a cheaper place to get parts for this then what I found.

twitch I have noticed that the parts prices aren't "super cheap" compared to the Align 600N as well...but the Frenzy has a cheaper initial cost and IMHO it flies much more locked in than the 600N. Its hard to explain, the Frenzy is very axial and seems more stable in maneuvers like rainbows, etc. Coming directly from a 600N it has a very different feel to it...in a good way. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you try it

Im still on the fence about this heli. Some people say its cheap quality and flies ok. Some people say its good quality and flies great. And the price of this kit will be going up from what I hear and the parts aren't any cheaper to similar 50's. How does this fly compared to the Vibe. Most people says the Vibe flies like a 90. Has a good flyer out there flown both and have a good feel for both.

I haven't flown the Vibe 50, but I'm sure it flys very well. I have been told it is a bit on the heavy side, and so is not the best 3D'er. The TZ 3D Frenzy is also a little heavier than the helis that I've been flying most lately (Compass Knight 3D) by about 4-5 ounces, and I had to modify the heads on my K3Ds to make them fly the way I wanted (changed the Delta angle). However I can tell you the 3D Frenzy flys the best of the 50's that I have flown, and if you PM me I will give you the list. The other obvious thing is, the Vibe 50's street price is $580, so make your oun decision.

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.
