I bought my Raptor 50SE V2 used and it has the 11 tooth pinion gear that is used on the Titan. Can I run a 2000 rpm head speed and not hurt the motor with this pinion gear or should I buy the 10 tooth and put it on?I never messed with pinion gears and dont know if it will over rev or max out the motor rpm's wich I dont wanna do.If im right the 11 tooth is 9.56:1 and the 10 tooth is 8.5:1 .I dont ever plan on running 620mm main blades so should I just put the 10 tooth in?Sorry if there dumb questions but im still learning and wanna keep the motor at a safe rpm, still have power with out bogging around 2000 rpm's on the head. The motor I have is the O.S 50 hyper if that helps. Thanks guys .

I use the Titan optional pinion and main gear on my raptor 50.
The ratio works out to 8.7:1 so running 2000 rpm should be fine.
I like the 8.7 gearing better with 600mm Blades.

If im right the 11 tooth is 9.56:1

85/10 8.5

96/11 8.7 white main gear.

FYI.. Running 2000/2100 wont prevent bogging. Loading or stalling the head causes bogging... Collective management prevents it

The Raptor 30/50 uses a fixed position motor and clutch stack. You have 3 ratios available. R30 uses 9/86 gear set for 1:9.56
The stock runs a 10/85 for 1:8.5
The titan uses an 11/96 with a different gear pitch I believe for 1:8.27.
You must always use pinion and main gear as sets. Otherwise gear lash will be off

Correct.
My bad. The Titan optional is 11:96 for a 1:8.83 ratio.
(I have been messing with the 90's a bunch and they run 8.27)

You can not run those gears together. You need the white 96 tooth main gear for the 11 tooth pinion.
It is sold as a set. 96 divided by 11 = 8.727 rounded out is 8.73.

Hi again,

When you install the 10T pinion long neck into the bearing above, make sure both surfaces are clean, and you use RED Locktite per instructions.
If you don't, the pinion long neck will spin on the bearing race and wear out, until the point it will wobble and break. I had it happen once when I omited the red Locktite

the second picture shows what happens when you ignore strange noises from the clutch bell. Funny enough I finnally acknowledge something was wrong and on the approach the clutch bell let go and I just finnished the auto without a problem, the Gov caught the overspeeding engine. lucky

Actually green locktite works best for securing the inner race of the bearing to the pinion and will come apart without a blow torch if you have to change one or the other.

Standard threads (turn CCW to remove). You may want to add a little heat in case they threadlocked it.

I think most, remove the starter hex socket and drop out the starter shaft out the bottom. This saves trying get your fingers up inside the frames to clip the c clip.

If you decide to loctite the bottom bearing to the pinion, (which is a good idea) then you have to pull the frames as you have, to get it apart. So look at it as good practice.
