Advanced parameters...

I see that the new directions speak of the "I" adjustment to control decelleration loss of altitude. There are other advanced parameters in my 2009 era DJI unit. Any insight into what they do?

Well I turned the I on the vertical up to 35 and eliminated the decelleration caused loss of altitude. I must say the system was just fine, but an Italian friend told me about the vertical "I" control, and I fine tuned it further. Any other insight on the advanced parameters?

Eric,
What exactly was happening before you tweaked this setting? Just curious.

Thanks!

It came about with an italian contact who was seeking my advice to manage a slight loss of altitude after a run+stop. So you initiate a forward (or backward, or sideways) travel at 50 feet off the ground, when you stop you end up at around 44 feet up. Losing about 1-2 meters per such action. My unit has done it, and it is not much of an issue, well after taking the "I" from 11.8 to 35 the problem is fixed. I would not have been investigating it, had the friend not sought my advice on it; but I'm glad he did.

By the way the I adjustment is described in the new DJI PDF, but the manual does not talk of the other adjustments in the advanced parameters menu(there are several).

It's stated in the newer manual regarding the "I". Pg 40 under Tips.

"P" and "V" will 99.9% of the time not need to be adjusted according to DJI.

Also, all new DJI's Standards come with "Return to Home" and "setting center" options as will.

Current DJI customer can get a free firmware upgrade just pay for shipping and the 5-10 day downtime.

Hey Robert,
So the free firmware upgrade includes the RTH feature? What's the "setting center" option?

Thanks!

Robert, I'll be shipping you mine around June 29th for upgrades. If anyone wants to get theirs to China in the same package maybe a few of us can do this date?

Thanks

Yes.
Its for setting the new fail safe and RTH feature.

The updated manual should be online soon.

It is not clear to me...on the DJI site it states that version XP3.1 B - 31006 (which I have) should be RTH ready!? I tried and downloaded the new software 1.4.2 but could not get the autopilot to connect to the computer as with version 1.3.3 so I see no way to activate it.

Does that means that also the XP 3.1B - 31006 needs to be sent for firmware upgrade?

Thanks
