This time I resisted the urge to poke around, although normally I might have tried

Ok I'll stop now

Does anyone have any thoughts on my query about whether the washers above the blades are necessary (a few posts above in the PS)?

Many thanks

David

I might have some spare plastic washers that come with new blades. They do as you suggested and ensure the blades are a good fit in the grip without needing to tighten the blades bolt too much therefore deforming the plastic grip.

Hi J3DI

I've actually got a few of the blade washers, but the problem is that when they're used, the blade bolts I bought aren't long enough to pass right through the blade grips and lock into the nylon in the nyloc nuts! The blade bolts I'm using at the moment are from a Maxi Joker and I can't seem to find any that are longer - at least not ones which are only shank (threadless) in the part which passes through the blades themselves ....

Cheers

David

David, yes think you'll need to find some longer shanked m4 bolts from another heli manufacturer - not sure which one though sorry!

Hi David,
my bolts are M4x35 (excluding head) with the shank being 12mm.

I think I got them from K&S.

Not sure if this is the right place but here they have tons of K&S parts: http://www.rcjapan.net/

These guys are extermly friendly and have fast shipping, tracking etc -highly recommended.

regards,
Hakan

Hi guys

Seems MacGregor Industries import the K&S M4 long-shank bolts into the UK .... might give them a phone to see if they can recommend a stockist

See this thread:

So I've sourced the blade bolts - last task is the battery mount as mentioned above

Cheers!
