Can someone advise me or point me to a "current" posting, regarding my needle settings ? I bought a Kasama header and my tuning is now terrible. Do I need to richen/lean my needles ? Eveything seemed to be fine before. I know.......I should have left things alone.

Im new to posting, but have gathered an incredible amount of information, just by reading and watching for all the Synergy posts. I hope I'm doing this right. Thanks

Unless I'm mistaking, your fuel filter is installed 'backward', the screen filter is filtring the fuel going into the tank ... leaving the debris free to get into the regulator/carb.

Also, I would caution on the use of a 2 part filter in a pressured fuel system.

I dont think its the header that is causing your tuning issue. You should need to richen the mid and high a click or 2 for the denser air in the winter.

Have you gone throught the usuals ...

- Check for good pressure in the tank at the end of the flight
- Plug
- leakage around the muffler/header area
- Clunk and fuel tubing
- Reset carb settings to manufacturer starting spec or you own 'documented' known to be good settings

I think I've found the problem. I disabled the Rev/Limiter in the 7100R and ran on the curve only. And everything changed back to good again. I think I was confusing slight intermitant sputters and massive fuel consumpion on the Kasama and I believe it may have had to do with the Rev sensor.
I thought that maybe the Kasama required differnt carb.settings, since it started after the install. Im hoping to really try it out today.

Hi

There was a post about 'gas flowing' a std. header on a YS91/SB19 and the terrible midrange problems it causes.

The Kasama header is a 'gas flowed' header!!!!
I would say take it off.

Paul

install a carbsmart and have no worries. my 91sr's get over 700 flights on carbsmart before any signs of power loss. last sr went 1 year before a bearing failed and we fly every weekend or week day year round.

airboss,

What temp do you run? Do you run it on the hover needle? I run a Multigov pro w mixture control on my ys50 and am very happy with it. I just got an N9 with a YS91sr, and I have the Multigov on that but have not hooked up the mixture control yet... still working out tuning issues. Not sure if I will run it or not, but am curious how you have yours set up...

Thanks

-David

I run my CS on the high needle it really wont do any good on mid needle. also have temp set at 100c. all break-in and tuning was done befor CS connected to needle. you may test CS with a heat gun and a temp ga to determine its funtion.
