I recently acquired a Rave. I would like to set it up to run on 4S and 350mm main blades. What would be a typical headspeed most pilots are flying on 350mm main?

My skill level is intermediate. I can flip, roll, tic-toc, funnel, inverted and backward circuit flying.

Thanks,

Dan

I am running around 2850 on the head. With 12 degrees of pitch it will do everthing you mentioned and more. So far I have only tried rotortech 350's but I have a set of radix that I will try soon.

You will really like the rave, it is one sweet heli.

3200+ for aggressive stuff. You can pull it back in the curves for milder stuff though.. It seems to zip around really good on the higher head speeds..

I wonder has anyone really tried a 3S with 350s and got back some temps and times? B4 the snow and cold hit here hard, the 3S with 350s did not look overly demanding on anything to be honest, but I did not get opportunity to eagle tree it though.....

I have actually talked to a couple of guys that are running that setup and said they liked it quite a bit. I have yet to try it myself, but I bet it works pretty nice. Let us know if you get any concrete data from the Eagle Tree!

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

I have been flying the Rave on 4S w/350s for months. HS of 2900 to 3000. I generally limit the flights to 5 or 5.5 minutes. Motor temps are barely above ambient, battery temps higher depening on the amount of fun I had.

I ran 3s w/ 350's for a while. It flys very similar to my current 4s setup but flightime was only 3:30. This was with a pprc 33c 2200mah pack. Motor temp was never over 100 degrees and packs were around 110.

I am much happier w/ the 4s setup as flightime is now between 4:30 and 5:30 depending on how I fly.

With the 10 Scorpion and 14 tooth, I'd be interested in hearing flight times with that setup...

4:30 in tight and 5:00 doing bigger stuff.. give or take! I set my timer to 4:30 and listen to the motor after that!

Today, flew my Rave with a Scorpion -10 (14T pinion), 4S/350 setup and was tached at 3440!!! Flight time was 4:30 and the battery used up 1260mah. Flying style was mild 3D. This bad boy really rocks at 3440 head speed....

Hi OICU812,

Yes, I was running the Outrage XP25/2200mah pack. Next, I'll extend the flight time to 5:00 and see how many mah that'll use.

Here is a video of my setup from this past weekend. It starts out with half a flight and then a whole flight. I hope you guys like it!

I went flying today and bumped my hs up. It really helped w/ piro consistancy (plastic tail blades) durring piro funnels. Unfortunately, I got a little to low while piro flipping and chrashed (Im gussing the first rave crash of 2009 ).

I fly with with a 3S pack and 350mm blades. I am running the 12 tooth pinion. Five minute flights are no problem.
