I just built up my Trex500 a few weekes ago and i wanted to know if anyone can help me. As i get into a hover and then fast foward flight as i push the right stick foward into foward flight and let go the heli eventually kind of levels off and slows down by itself, and then i have to push on the right stick foward to get it going into fast foward flight again. It doesnt slow down right away by itself but does it gradually by itself after a few seconds after i letgo of the right stick..
If anyone can help me with this please let me know??
My throttle curves are alittle lower than the 500 manual, could this be the reason it levels off by itself?
Thanks for all the help,
DanB

Tail heavy, not trimmed out, and somewhat normal.

I had this same problem with mine. I moved the battery's as far forward as i could and it seemed to help. I don't know what size battery you are running but I here that the 6cell 3300 mah single pack helps the heli balance out pretty good.

Hi dbgood
My t. curves are.
normal 0/50/100
1 100/85/100
2 100/100/100
Also just a note to keep an eye on the canopy grommets . Mine were starting to split and didn't really pay it that much att. because they felt like the were holding on pretty good. guess what they let go when I was inverted flying backwards and went through the rotor blades. Cost me $235 to repair that includes one of the $65 battery's that also got hit by the blades when it was ejected or ripped out by the canopy.
I guess its a good time for a upgrade, I have been trying to fine the canopy mounts that screw on. and I am going to find some faster paddles.
What size pinon gear are you using?

get off the computer and go fly

Also bare in mind that FFF take practice just the same as 3d, Ive been flying for Im guessing 5 years and still constantly trying to get my forward flight smoother and faster, smoother is the key to more speed I find, every stick movement to correct slows the heli.

Also bear in mind Trex`s are more aimed towards 3d as apost to F3c type flying like say something like a JR Airskipper, I cant comment on the Trex 500 I have never seen one fly, but just for example a Guy has an old dinosoar of a heli, I think a Jr vigor that in forward speed makes my Trex 600 look sedate, I have owned a Jr airskipper and they travel through the air very differently to a Trex, very fast more like a RC aeroplane I suppose.

Also I find with my trex600 any wind at all really stops it dead in fff, often even flying downwind when the wind is gusting can cause you to not fly smooth and loose speed even with the wind from behind, if the wind is constant though I find you can go even faster down wind.

Also try flying slightly down hill helps.

EDIT.. I do have a HDX 500 size heli that flies really good in FFF but for tossing around its just to slow.
