Just doing a rebuild of my heli to make it a contest bird. I was wondering if there would be a benefit to switching to ceramic bearings in areas like main shaft support bearings, bearings in the bladfe grips, etc. Ceramics hybrids for one thing don't require the grease packing (a drop of light oil is all) and thus less drag. Just a though

most definately. I use em on all my equip. more expensive a little. but eliminates virtually all friction. lots of diff types. hybrid ss races are good. I run em unlubed, but every body has there own opinion. Their are seal pre lubed ones that you never lube but=friction. The ceramic balls are poreless and hardly need any lube(lite oil)at all. I blow them off with air.

oh yeah they will last slightly longer with lube but to me they last plenty long without it.
