Just purchased Micro heli CNC pulley and 44 tooth belt combo from Heli Direct. First of all let me say that I have the ultimate of respect for Heli Direct, I'm having a problem with with my heli and the bolt the goes through the clutch and main gear at the bottom. The new pulley is installed and seems to be alright but the main shaft is lacking just a little bit in lining up so the bottom bolt can go through. What am I doing wrong? Im sure Heli Direct would let me trade the pulley for another Im a old customer but before I call them I thought I would ask you pilots. It might not have anything to do with the new pulley but when I put the standard pulley back on it lines right up and the bolt goes right through the Hub. I really appreciate hearing from any of you who have some advice. Good Flying and Happy New Year.

I am not totally understanding?

I am assuming you are talking about the main shaft riding too high and not seating low enough to slide the bolt through?

Maybe the jesus pin in the 44t pulley isnt recessed far enough?

If so is it as simple as loosening the top frame collar on the shaft and pushing it down further?

I know thats just the obvious stuff but I am not the only one that does these dumb things am I?

No Really I am the club President!!!

Tough to diagnose without pics. What is the issue with the shaft - does it seem too long or not long enough? Are you sure that the little brass spacer got reinstalled between the bearing & the new pulley?

Wow, love these forums. Many different ideas, all good ones
Tryan, I've done the same thing regarding the collar, too

I couldn't have said it better myself!

Nope, not by a long shot. I did it yesterday. Moved the head and tail over to the Xtreme HBK2 frame yesterday. Noticed the pulley was riding too low and there was a few MM of slop between the main gear and the bottom bearing. After privately blaming Xtreme for fitment issues, I remembered that I've been running a larger top main bearing on the plastic frame. The Xtreme frame comes with stock sized, shorter bearings. All my problems were solved by sliding the collar down a few MM. DOH!

Thanks for the help

Thanks for such quick replys. No pin came with the new pulley so Im using the regular HB King Jesus pin. I'll try everything you guys recomend and see if I can get the bolt to go trhough ..it's so close that you cant hardly see that the shaft isn't going all the way down. I will start with just a bare main shaft again and try every angle...I will look at the bearing mabe I have it riding to high but the belt is perfectly lined up with the idlers. Thanks for now

Don't forget to try loosening the top collar and let it slide down as T suggests. That will give you tad more play on the bottom.

I have to agree with TRYAN, leave everything the way you have it, just loosed the top collar, get the pin in and then push up on the bottom of the shaft and push down on the upper collar while you tighten it back up. Should be good to go. I a that same problem a while back and that was the solution.

That happened to me once. I tried everything but no luck. What I did was I shaved the hole on the main shaft (that does not align with the main gear hole) a little wider with the dremel.May be 1/32" or less Vola! Everything fit perfectly again...

what a man can do, another can do...
