Had a little mishap when I forgot to charge my Rx battery on my Maxi Joker. After the heli crashed and repaired I notice my ESC isn't working normally anymore. I have a Schulze 40-160H with a Blue Plettenberg motor.

I plug the esc to my batteries (10S, fully charged), and the thing goes through its normal routine. A series of tone followed by a single tone for arming. When I try to add throttle, it barely tries to spin... But it does for about a second. Then it shuts down.

Any ideas whats wrong with it? I tried putting a little load on the motor and it seems to help a little. if its the ESC, this really sucks. Anyone knows who services the ESC and where I would ship it?

thanks for the quick reply. I just spent a little more time with this heli and there definitly seems to be some kind of weird smell coming out of the Plettenberg. I swapped out the Plettenberg with my Hacker Brushless and the ESC works fine. So now I'm stuck with a bad motor.. How can this be? Aren't the Plettenbergs almost bullet proof? Never had a bad brushless motor before.

So how do I go about getting that fixed?

After more examination I think what I'm going to need is a new motor. So I don't suppose anyone has one for sale? I don't think I can wait for the repair.

That sucks. what is that flight number 2? I've got one I might be inclined to sell, for the right price.

Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

I know. I just can't wait that long. I'll end up buying the motor and shipping this one out for repair. I can always sell it later. I'm almost positive I can get $400 for it at a later time if I really want to sell it.

I did take the motor apart today and the windings are definitly shorted. You can smell it.. Its pretty bad. Its hard to imagine the motor can so easily be damaged from a simple crash where the motor itself did not make any impact to the ground.

Did you hit hold?

Edit: no hold if you don't have a charged RX pack. Not completely unusual to have a motor fail if you crashed under power.
