I DON'T TEXT.

Sending me a text message will result in loss of business connection to me.
I hate 'em. I really think they are obnoxious, on many levels. Not only do I not read the occasional one that I get, but the people who know me and want to work with me are made painfully aware of my feelings about them.

I would be overjoyed if somehow, the technology to make cell phones work was irrevocably lost.
Life was good and QUIET and people were force to plan ahead and be responsible when meeting you somewhere.
A cell phone-free existence was a good thing and when I retire, I will once again know that life.

I think all technology has it's place. In my line of work cellphones and texting are a must. If I have a customer that has a server down, they do not want to call the office and get my voice mail. Also with the text messaging 99% of the time I know they have a problem before they do and am already on my way or remoting it to see what the problem is. It's a essential tool to my being PROACTIVE instead of REACTIVE to my customers. I can also send 1 text and have that text go to an entire group of people at the same time rather than having to call each and everyone of them.

It's also easier for my wife to text me what she needs me to pick up on the way home. That way I got a list typed by her that can be "held up in a court of law" if something gets forgotten! lol

Like I said technology has it's place.

I like to call people so I don't text much.. But somewhere around 50 to 100 messages a month I think. It's so much easier to just call and talk.

I do about 8000 a month. It is the only way I talk to people. It is a good way to see what friends are up to without having to call them up and have a full conversation with them.
