What is the right way to set up your tail rotor blades. Do you center the slider on the shaft? Do you center the tail rotor blades then center your linkage and servo? Is there a measurement?

Mike-
yes you center the arm up 90 degrees but there is alot more to it than that...
Let us know what helo, radio, Gyro combo you got and I will forward the direct link to Raptortechniques.com or you can look it up under the gyro section on the website, site is amazingly useful on stuff that applies to Raptors......

Mike-
Here is the page link to Raptortechniques on gyros...
I did not see a listing for the 10c Futaba but maybe some of the other guys that have the Futaba knowledge can chime in here on the 9C vs the 10c on set up....
Here is the link.

I use a 4.50mm C shaped spacer between the slider and tailcase. If you fold the tailblades back the distance between the tips is about 25mm, (or thumb size ). Switch radio on in Normal or Rate mode and set the push rod and horn at 90 degrees.

You should find you need a max of one turn in or out on the push-rod length for a stable hover. Some do not bother with this step, but go straight to HH mode and go fly.

you can also use a 4.5mm allen wrench, though it doesn't look as nice

One thing the Raptor Technique page doesn't mention is how important it is to get the tail rotor trim correct. Your first setup flight should be done with the gyro in normal. Bring the heli into a hover with the gyro in normal and no rudder trim. Trim the heli by adjusting the tail rotor push rod. Once you have it flying straight and level, again go back and adjust the tail travel via the limit adjustment on the gryo.

Realize that this means your tail pitch slider may not be in the center anymore.

Regards, Guy

Depends on who you ask. Most of us just center the slider, center the servo, and let HH do its thing.
