Sweet Jeff!

look straight down and spin as fast as you can, it is surreal.

Really unique view of the snowy trees!

Glad the mount is still working!

Edit- looking straight down would make a really cool print

What a nice shot, shame about the overcast sky, that would have been 300% better with a blue sky to give a crisp feeling to all that snow.

How big are the RAW files from the mk2? I'm thinking of getting one but have a funny feeling that my 4GB cards will only get 100-110 shots on them?

Seems to me that ALL heli's beat the air into submission

Hilarious - it´s a merry-go-round
And very pretty too.

"I might get a model on xc sticks for that one"
Means what?

I enjoy the grey sky, natural and realistic with a great deal of snow...

Always those great panos (with not too much zoom possibility)

Nice! Even at 1600, the noise in the sky isn't too bad. All it needs is a sound track of wind whispering through the trees......

Lovely, I've been wanting to do a similar pano but haven't found the right opportunity.

To those who commented about the cloudy sky: I think a bright sunny day will be very challenging for the camera, given the extreme contrast between the snow and everything else. But then perhaps the 5D MK2 has a sensor with enough latitude to handle it.

Experimenting...

Feeling bored, having been cooped up inside here in the frozen tundra, I decided to do some experimenting using Flash Panorama Player.

Since many wondered what it would be like to spin the pano while looking straight down on Jeff's beautiful pine forest, I thought I'd give it a go from the reverse end- looking straight up from under the pine forest

Caution, this experiment will definitely tax your machine's horse power, not designed for the slower machine Go full screen if you dare!

You can assess how fast your computer is from the FPS (frame per second) number on the upper left corner. During full spin (non full screen), my laptop shows 40 FPS.

Tony,
That's the secondary purpose of this experiment, to give you an excuse to upgrade! I consider this a public service

Jeff,
In addition to a lot more extensibility, lens flare is one of the reasons I'm migrating to FPP from Pano2VR.
