Has anyone done a comparison between Align DS610 and JR8717 servos? I know folks that are currently using the Aligns and are content with the performace. But no one has given me a comparison to the 8717's.

Thanks
Luis

I have. I swapped out my 8717's and put in some DS610's in their place. I changed out one servo first turned it on, worked the cyclic and pitch up and down. The DS610 was outrunning the 8717's on 6 volts. Saw it with my own two eyes.

Well I have them installed now on a Rex 600n with a OS70 installed. I tend to load them up as well as anybody. I can not tell any difference between the servos at all.

It's my favorite heli to fly. Perfect power to weight ratio. And the DS610's handle it perfectly. Pics are in my gallery.

What kind of mods are needed to fit The OS70 on the Trex600? What gear ratio and head speed are you running?

I run the stock gear ratio. The head speed is set at 2000. Lots of grunt with this combo. There are some threads on this mod and I have some pics in my gallery to help you out.

I have flown both and i like the 8717s better you can run them on 8v with no problems and they center better but the 610s are a great servo for the money $70. I havent had any problems with eather but the 610 dont center spot on under load they arent that off but you do realize it when you are used to better

The DS620's is what you want if you want speed! I have these in my 600 and they are the only servos I will be buying from now on! I also have the 520's in my 500! The 620's have 10kg/cm @ 6v!

60% of the time, it works every time!

You must have got bad 620's then because they have way more torque than the 700 needs! A friend of mine has them in his 700 and they rock! 10kg/cm is a lot!
Next you'll be saying that the 9257's dont have enough torque for the 500 but how many people have that combo with no problems!

60% of the time, it works every time!
