what do you guys think about this camera for AV? i am trying to find something light and cheap... i think i heard that you dont want a cmos sensor, but you do want a ccd sensor. something about vibrations? i figured its not a hard drive camera so it might be ok on a trex 700e...

what do you think?

Chez, that doesn't seem to be HD. I personally wouldn't get anything less than HD, as a normal P&S can do a fair job of non-HD video...

I don't even need to look at the link to say stay away, for just about the same price you can get a Sony hc5 he camera, myself, trackhead and many others use this camera with great success

but that camera is going for around $400 and the one i was showing you could get on ebay for $230. plus the one i showed uses hcsd cards instead of minidv tapes. i know it does not do HD but would it work as a cheep starter camcorder? would it have the problem the hard drive camcorders have when they glitch and shut down because of high frequency vibrations?

hey
chez....i'm not an official APer but i follow the forum closely and do considerable amounts of video work for a non-profit...

listen to what others are saying....

consumer HD camcorders are very affordable and offer very good quality for what you are paying. You should know the saying by now being in RC helicopters, "buy cheap, pay twice"

if you don't have $100 or $200 extra available right now....WAIT....buy in a month or two and save yourself the regret of buying an HD camcorder later and having to sell the SD one later for next to nothing

best of luck....happy flyin

Thanks
