Anyone have any information on PHI Helicopters?
They manufactured the "Tornado" and "Hurricane".

The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!

Hi there jczankl,
Nice photo gallery, especially the GMP machines.

Is there an e-mail contact for Mr.Myers or perhaps a website planned? I watched the older site for a while but never saw an updated one.

I have now spoken to Mr. Myers on the telephone. He seems quite a nice gentleman.
I was asking for a few parts but because I don't have a manual for my Hurricane, he's offered to mail me one. This was a few weeks ago now. Haven't gotten anything yet.

What we need is, for someone to buy the remaining inventory from PHI and continue the support for them. Also include the other earlier GMP machines.

Petroleum Helicopters Incorporated? My flight instructer got hired by them and flies oil rig workers out into the Gulf of Mexico. That's the only PHI I've ever heard of pertainig to helicopters.

You mean there's a company that makes an rc helicopter that uses PHI's name too?

I've been on plenty of PHI's heli's out in the Gulf. One of the pilots was flying planks at the field in New Iberia and when I asked him about flying R/C heli's he said he could never get the hang of it.

Precision Helicopters Inc.
Yes, an RC company using PHI abbreviation.
I doubt that they are around any more, it's just too late, and the design is just WAYYYYY to old to update.
They'd have to start over.

That's funny! A professional helicopter pilot who can't fly rc helicopters.

I have my commercial helicopter license, but I also fly rc helicopters.

I don't see how the cyclic inputs are any different! Now nose in would do most full scale pilots in within a couple seconds! LOL
