The 401 is a great gyro. More than capable.

The 770 is is also a good gyro, but it can be a pain to get it setup right.

You really can't go wrong with either gyro.

And if you're looking for something that has incredible holding power, there's always the Spartan...

Hell... I can fix that.
Uh oh..
Nope.

the 770 will hold much better than the 401
if you read the directions you will love the 770
it holds better than my 611

if you want a 770 , I have one thats was flown 2 times on my N9 then swapped for a spartan. the 770 has very hard stop capability and I dont need that with the synergy. make a reasonable offer on the pm if you want it.

The CSM SL 630 is the kat's a$$ for these little helis but is a little pricey. The next best thing is the Ace TG7000 and 9257 at least until the new Airtronics servo is released. Best part about the 7000 is the price and the beauty is that if you get tired of using it in a 450 class machine it mates up really well with a 9251/56 in a big heli. Did I mention the price, it's really cheap but it is really good.

Come on now. Like George says... its more than capable. Another alternative is to slap the 401 on your mini titan and get a Spartan for your 50.

Since you aleady have an Ace product, I would try a TG7000. I've heard great things about them, and I'm going to try one on Mandy's 600N and one on my Trex 500E.

Saturday morning I flew my helicopter in my pajamas
How it got in my pajamas I'll never know

i would put the 401 on the mini titan from your 50 then upgrade the gyro for your 50, or just buy another 401 then you wont have to worry about different setup issues

fwiw..

I've owned and flown a lot of gyros...Right now my favorite is the Spartan...But all round unless you just BEAT your heli, the 401 is the easiest to buy and set up of the current crop...The Spartan does hold better, but even my 2100 does a great job on my 450 helis...If price is an object, the 401/9650 is a great combo.

I have a Cypher 3D with a TG7000 and prototype ATX servo on it and the piro consistency is quite good and better than a 401. For what you can buy a TG7000 for, the price is right and it works way better than a 401 could ever work. No offense to the 401, the TG7000 is just better.

The KDS800 is cheaper than a 401 and is extremely similar in the way you set it up.

EDIT - my Raptor 30 has a CSM 420.. because I got it for free Swapped out the old 3010 servo on the tail for a DS0606 - just need to do a little bit of fine tuning and then enjoy.
