I have a blade mcx and a hirobo quark, they are both so much fun and I recommend an indoor heli to everyone, but here is the question. I want to move up and try my hands on a larger outdoor heli, which size do you suggest. I have had people say a 400 size electric or close is good , but what about a .30 size nitro? I am willing to spend around $800.00, maybe more. I am still a beginner and want a quality next step heli that will help me go further in the hobby. I also want to say thank you to all the people that I have met through this hobby at my local hobby shops as well as on here, thank you for all your help and comments.

Buy a used Raptor 50. Best bang for the used buck.

Get a hula hoop, and you will be hovering and figure eighting in a week.

Why Hover a Yak, when a Heli does it better?

get yourself a 50 size nitro and don't look back. You'll be glad you did.

why not try the Trex 500, see here http://runryder.com/helicopter/t482...li+for+beginner

But if you can you should get a 50 like joe said.

Must be super secret deal in the works.

Inquiring minds want to know.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

A 450-500 sized electric is a solid heli for a beginner primarily because you don't have to worry about engine tuning like with a nitro. But, I would also recommend a 50 sized nitro. Finding some experienced help with it would be very wise, especially to help with engine tuning.
