I have a vibe 50 and am looking for a small electric to get some stick time in around the yard. Its not a huge yard so I belive that the 500 would be to much.
I am on about a 600.00 budget and I have chargers and recievers.

What do you guys think?? Rex 250 450 blade 400 I fly some mild 3d nothing crazy yet.

Just remember the bigger the heli the easier to fly. Bigger blades = less twitchy. That is why I would think a 400-450 first.

The 250 would cost less (batts mainly).

Without seeing your yard... it is hard to say.

Mild 3d in your back yard, depends on how big your yard is, and I also think the 250 3ds better that the blade 400, I had a 400 for a while but it didnt get close to my 450, still is a great fun heli to fly and it will 3d, but not as clean as a 450.

If it does feel twitchy reduce Ail and Ele mix and slap some expo on it unit it feels better, let us know what you get.

I would go for a Dragonus 450. Flies so smooth, predictable with precise control and will flip as fast as you want it too at the same time (adjustable head mixing).

Mini Titan SE, not the cheapest, just the best in the 450 size class in my opinion.

As said earlier, depends on the size of your yard. Here's my formula:

Zero lot line = Trex 250
< 1/4 acre = Blade 400
< 1/2 acre = Trex 450
< 1 acre = Trex 500, Atom 500 etc...
1-3 acres = Trex e600
5 acres + = Nitro 50
10 acres + = Nitro 90, anything you want!

Well, it's not a real formula but I think it may work.

I was Spektrum when Spektrum wasn't cool

Hi Jameswill4,

I bought a used mini titan here on RR with the same intended purpose. I use it in a small backyard just to practice basic flying year round. Brand new I don't think it would fit in the $600 budget but you can find them used. I think it's a great flying heli and with one crash on it the parts weren't expensive.

Christian.

If you have limited headroom i.e. overhead telephone wires etc. I would go for a 250, if you dont have limited headroom a 450 would be more stable.

60% of the time, it works every time!
