I love mine. I wish I would have got it sooner.

I do have one complaint, though. I wish the Gyro menu, and Gov menu were channel selectable. To make a TX this versitle, and have all the programming options that it has, it doesn't make any sense to NOT have this feature.

Hell... I can fix that.
Uh oh..
Nope.

I really like mine as well. A great radio for sure. My only dislike is you can't start the timer with the throttle. I never remember to start it. Chuck

Love the 9303 2.4. It's the best radio I have ever owned. I have allways wanted a JR.
The only thing I would like would be an electronic cyclic ring. Everything else is more than I need.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

I replaced my 9C with a 9303. At first I didn't like the feel of the 9303. But I wanted its 2.4 so I kept flying it. I still left one heli on 72. So one day my 2.4 heli was down and I switched back to the 9C and now I didn't like the way it felt. So I find a little acclimation period is needed.

I started with a Futaba FF7, then a JR 3810 and then a 9xII. The 9xII was such a step up from the 3810 in terms of easy and logical programming that it was the only radio I wanted to fly with.

I have a DSX9 2.4 now & that is the cherry on top as far as signal reliability is concerned. As I buy receivers for my fleet of 20 planks & helis I copy the programming over from the 9xII. Luvverly!

I'd prefer a timer activated by the throttle stick. I'd like to see the servo speed option thats in the airplane menu available in the glider and heli menus.

Other than that I love it.

I really like the gov. menu and the cyclic to throttle mixing. Really is a great radio. The Futaba 10C may (probably) has more flexible programming but I really like my 9303.

My only one complaint after a year is the TX antenna top comes off some times. This may have been due to some way that I stuffed the radio into my Trex-450 case one time or maybe bouncing around in my car. Would be nice if the TX antenna folded at the base rather than 1/2 way up.

There are some "would be nice to have"'s such as a back lit screen, throttle activated timer (most common complaint) and I wish the battery pack was mounted more toward the center or top of the case so it'd balance like it had a long silver antenna.

Put the money back in my hands today and I'd make the same choice - X9303. 12X looks oh so nice but man that's a lot of money!

Likes:
  • Hold Delay. It's like a built in "soft start" for electrics, also convenient for bailing out of botched auto's without fear of jackin up your gear train or folding your blades
  • Large programming display
  • scroll wheel selector. Fast & easy.
  • cyclic-throttle mixing
  • Digital trims with adjustable trim steps
  • Generous 1500mAh NiMH battery pack is good for a full day at the field without a recharge
  • Radio has a solid feel and a comfortable weight. Not too heavy, not too light.

Dislikes:
  • Trims are independent of each flight mode. Meaning that if you use trim in IU1, N and IU2 remain unaffected. This could be good & bad depending on the application, but they dont give me a choice.
  • Throttle Trim doesn't work in throttle-hold. This sucks because it's not practical to start your heli in hold, and you need to make sure you're in N mode prior to releasing T-Hold to kill it.
Because of this, it's just a "hot-start" waiting to happen if someone is not careful.
  • Cant map D/R's to a single switch unless assigned to a FM
  • Timer. why can't JR be more like Futaba?
  • gimbals 'clunk' when passing over center
  • switch assignment is only available for select functions, and options are extremely limited
  • sliders on side of radio. I'd rather have a rotating v/r knob on the face of the radio.
  • Not possible to use the Gyro Sense programming with a 6 channel receiver.

Love my X9303 2.4 ! I have owned several Futabas, a DX7, and many moons ago, a JR 8303. The x9303 is the best by far.

It's a bit pricey but good.

I have the 921 RX in all my ships now.

I especially like being able to transfer my settings to and from the PC.

Just read in my manual today about the servo speed control for Acro. Man I wish that was available for Heli as well. Could really use that on my Bell 222 project. Bummer.

Maybe JR could make us a software update...

I have both X9303 heli and plane ver and love them

I would however like a better back-lit screen as I have trouble reading it in certain light conditions

There is a separate switch for Aileron, Elevator, and Rudder dual rates.

If you want D/R on all 3 of those channels, it could mean you have to flip 3 switches.

There is a way around that.
There is a very nice program in the 9303 that lets you set your D/R's to "auto".

For example: You set multiple values for all D/R & expo functions, then you assign which of those get assigned to each flight mode.

The 9303 lets you use up to 5 flight modes.
N, S1, S2, S3, S4.

A good way to make use of a D/R switch is to set S1 & S2 to a high rate, set S3 and S4 to low rate.

Make S1 identical to S3 with the exception of rates
make S2 Identical to S4 with the exception of rates

I use "Elev D/R" as my FM Extra switch.
Toggling my Elev D/R cycles between S1 and S3 when the FM switch is in the 1 pos, cycles between S2 and S4 when the FM switch is in the 2 pos.

It sounds complicated, but it's really not.
If someone wanted me to, I could make a nice tutorial as to how to do this.
