It's snowing here AGAIN today.
It has been below freezing, and snowing for over a week now. We just don't get this kind of snow here. I have nearly a foot & a half in the yard, and it's still coming down!

Unreel!

Weather forcast says it's supposed to be in the mid-40's by Friday.
I can just see that... I can imagine there will be a fair amount of flooding when we melt that much snow all at once.

I know that in some parts of the country, this is a minor snow, but for us up here in the Northwest, it's a rarity. We get snow, but usually just for a day or two, then it melts off. Never a continuous snow like this.

I'm lovin' it!
I think I'll make a set of skis for Frankenheli.

I just shovel a landing zone and fly off of that. The skis would have to be pretty big to handle the weight of a heli in soft snow and it will slide all over the place when taking off and landing on packed snow..... Skids are way better.....

Tom..... No "D" flying....

We have also had below freezing and high winds for a few weeks. We are getting a warm front today gonna jump up to a balmy 33º been below zero the last few mornings. Its easier just to kick a small spot out of the way and have fun. Youll find the tailrotor will cut a groove just fine.

You're a braver man than I am.

I like the snow, but I like it even more from in the house, looking out the window at it. I just don't DO cold.

Here's some shots from Monday. We've got a bunch more snow since then.

I don't know if I mentioned it, but I served 2 years at Ft. Lewis, WA back in the mid-80s. I lived in Lakewood at the time. My oldest son was born at Ft. Lewis. I have many memories of Washington. I loved Seattle, a beautiful city. Speaking of snow, I spent many a day back then hiking and cross country skiing around Mt. Rainier. Man...those were the days...20 years ago and I have yet to return to Washington. My son wants to visit his birth place. We are thinking about a trip out your way in the near future.

I live in Vermont and we've got about two and a half feet at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I love the snow. But I have been looking forward to flying my new Belt Cp sometime soon. I guess I'll just have to make some fine tunings and get it in perfect working order! Merry Christmas!
