Would there be any interest in this type product ?

It is used to tach your HS instead of looking through a little peep hole.

I can't see any benifit. It still requires 2 people. One person to fly, and one to operate the tach.

Hell... I can fix that.
Uh oh..
Nope.

What would be the cost of something like this? It'd be useful on a lot of things, not just helis...

this model has an HS range of 500 - 2500 rpm

just a guess at this time, will be around the $80-100 US range

I have an idea of making 2 versions
Basic Heli-Tach just does HS
or the
Pro Version which would have the heli tach + real time HUD for engine rpm,Temp and Timer

probably somewhere in the $150-200$ range

A Real HUD , for Temp, Engine RPM, blade rpm, speed, alt , voltage....would be awesome, not just for helis but planes as well.

It would take some getting used to, but I would like to try it.

I flew an electric Plank with virtual goggles, by camera. I was being buddy-boxxed by someone who had actual eye contact with the plank. But , he never had to take it away from me.

I went from takeoff to landing. I was sitting in a chair, and almost fell off the chair twice. Very cool. Out of body experience. HUd would have made it even cooler.

Telemetry is awesome, but taking your eyes off the birdie is a no-no....so HUD seems to be the natural progression, I would love to try it.

Why Hover a Yak, when a Heli does it better?

The HUD version sounds pretty useful. It could really help to get a heli dialed in for the right engine performance.

A liquid crystal shutter tach would be a great improvement in a box. This was attempted years ago but the shutter speed was not fast enough.

HUD stands for Heads-Up Display. Basically, letting you view information without removing your eyes from the main objective. Think fighter pilots...
