Hi Guys
Just putting my new Vibe together. Awsome maschine is all I can say. I just put the Fanshroud on with the 4 collar washers. After tightening everything the FAnshroud still has play, is that supposed to be like that??

Regards Pete

Hi

Mine is also moves a little. I had thought of putting a dab of silicon glue on during assembly. I would give a slight 'rubber' mount and come off easily when you need.

So when the motor and the fan shroud are in place, the is no way the fan could rub on the shroud, right?

Check that the screws are fully seated; even the littlest bit will cause this to happen. I hold the shroud on one side to support it while tighten the screws from the other side. The fan shroud will be loose until the screws are firmly seated. It is only plastic so just be careful not to strip the holes.

I ground the alum collars down a bit and it seems to be tight now, it seems they were wider than the frame so they gould not clamp the shroud down properly. Another question? Since this is my first torquetube heli, do you guys lube the gears in some way??

No lube necessary. The Vibe has one of the smoothest TT action I have seen.

Fly hard, have fun and take it home in one piece...

mine moves a little. No problems for me yet.

No grease on the gears. That only attracts dust and dirt.

Hi Guys

My fan shroud doesn't move about, but it is not tight.

After a few flights there is a bit of grey 'rubbed aluminum' oil streaking on the frames.

Regards
Paul

Mine moves a little, and it looks it started to wear the frame or the aluminum, I think I will add some O Rings or Silicon

Hi
Well o.k it seems too have some play, it s not like loose that it rattles but it moves a bit. I will also put some rubbery stuff under it. Because I think after some time you will see some wear, aluminium or frame. You really need the ballsizing tool on these JR links, do you??? I just orderd one, but man they are tight, but I guess after sizing them it should be real snug.

Same here. Never was concerned about it but maybe an o-ring will help

I have the robbe one (adjustable ball diameter) and it has been working really nice.

Not Really

I don’t use ball seizers; I use pliers and I press the link against the ball link.
And it works perfect!! (Hope it’s untreatable what I just say)

My shroud is snug on both of my Vibes. No movement on either one. No gray residue either. I would think if you have any movement the vibration will eventually wear out the frames and add to the Vibe hum...Just my opinion.

Merry Christmas to all!!!
