For anyone looking for a barebones HBK2, get it before they're gone... http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=3136 or maybe you'd prefer a Belt CP for only a few dollars more http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=1646

XCell Spectra G
Radikal G20
Some obsolete nitro helis too...

Although I'd prefer an EXI, they also have the Carbon w/ Metal head Belt CP ARF on sale too.
http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=2867

That's a great price on the HBK2 BB Kit if you need to get other parts. free shipping > $100 from them.

oh, that HeliArtist fuse I got from them has come down by $20.

Link to their clearance items.

I have watched the bell222 fuse come down from $129 to $89 in the last year. I want that thing bad.

I unfortunately am going to try to curb my heli expenses for my other hobby. I got another build on the drawing table.

It is also a barebones.

Well I had a slow year on the bike as it was in storage during the flooding and managed to log just over 5,000miles a normal year is 8,000-10,000.

But it has nothing to do with justifying the money or time its just something I have wanted to do for years I tore down a suzuki marauder and built it back up but it just wasnt the same as building a frame up. Maybe I can cross this off my bucketlist before I even make one.

my scanner is dead but here is a photo of the suzuki I did a lot of custom work on and sold to buy my harley.

you and me both slider. I think my boat is like my helis. I spend more time getting it ready in the spring, washing it, winterizing it and fixing it than using it!
I'm hoping that will change this summer as my 2 oldest boys are now swimming good enough to rid on the tube and hopefully water skii by themselves.
They got tired of Fishing (and not catching) last year so we did not go out as much.

$169 for a full carbon CNC Belt-CP seems like a screamer deal...

Bought those new plastic main gears http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=9861 and a few http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=545.

New colorful flybar paddles, they should fit.

Had a boat for little bit. After finding out that it have bigger gas tank then my car and it doesn't get much of MPG either vs Fun factor so I got rid of it.

Well, I broke down and got a HBK2 kit so thanks for the post!

I took inventory and had ALL the parts I needed and wanted to put the Mystery 3000Kv motor & ESC I got from Ebay a month ago into something new since I pulled it from my Exceed G2.

This will be my new "beater heli" I'm hoping.

BTW on the boat thing. Up until last year we'd take the boat out and beach it then play in the water or fish. I'd get 1 tank of gas a year (65g tank). Last year we did more water sports and burnt a half a tank in 1 weekends of boating! Still though, gas is the minor expense in boating! No way I'd sell it in this market. I'd get nothing for it. Me and the Mrs. are actually thinking of mothballing the boat for 3 years and getting a pontoon instead.

And don't forget the HBFP Barebones for only $33.41! A great deal! Throw in a brushless main motor and you'll have a Super FP . Well...uh, you'll have to also throw in a tail motor, two ESCs, two servos, gyro and receiver...

Gas is cheap this year so we will be making some long trip with the boat if I get back to work before spring.... Besides gas is the cheap part of boating for me with the marina fees, storage fees, food and booze. Putting 250 gallons of gas in the tank is another heli in my book....

Well I bet the king2 will have you throwing the striker in the trash.

Get the headspeed up on it.
If you use one of the Online HS calculators you will want max headspeed at around 3000rpm. I always figured you get about 75% of calculated with all the loading taken into effect.

that 3000kv will be a little weak you'll want a 12 or 13t pinion The king is a little heavy compared to other micro helis as I am sure you've seen partly due to the 400 size head and drive line. Anything less than 12t will have it bobbing up and down in the slightest breeze but will be very docile.

I know. I think I got the record on low king headspeed I first got my king used the calculator and bought an 8t on the hdx3800rpm After the BCPP I didnt know what to do with it it just had no cyclic to it at all.

I got at 13T for it so I'll start w/ that.

I thought this was a KIT and it's actually an ARF so less building than I thought!

How far out on the servos for the cyclic should I put the linkages for the servos?

I may not throw the striker in the trash but I think I'll stop trying to tweek the darn thing. Post to come soon on today's adventure in the "did you work thread"
