HI

I know both gyro works well but is the spartan better in holding power or is the 611 the best of the 2?

Holding power is very similar IMO. The Spartan shines in Piro Maneuvers. It is more consistent than the 611. I also like the 'feel' of it better. Oh, and did you notice how teeny tiny the Spartan is compared to the HUGE 611 with its fragile separate Amp?

Spartan

I fly in Orlando with Bert Kammerer and I have heard him saw on many occasions that the Spartan holds as good if not better than the 611.

He flies it on all of his equipment.

If he's flying it, and lives by it, then it must be good.

It's always sunny in Orlando!

Having flown with both, I can confirm that the Spartan has a much more confidence inspiring feel to the tail. The tail stops harder, and piros are much more consistent. Plus, the Spartan is much smaller too.

Running it with BLS251 here - very happy. Many run it with the JR8900G too. Take your pick...

That's one of the best things about the Spartan. You can pair it with whatever servo you want.

I have the s9254. Will it work just as good as the 8900g?

Just use the 9254 you have, I am sure you will be happy with it....but keep an eye on it, the 9254 is known to be failure prone.

It should work fine with the 9254, but I'd certainly vote for the 8900G for great performance.

Probably not. The 8900G is the fastest tail servo on the market. But that's not to say that the 9254 won't work great. Both are good servos

Which one?

They both work good. I don't see a huge difference in holding power or feel after exchanging the Futaba for a Spartan. Both were run using the same BLS251 servo. The Futaba gyro is easier to set up using the LCD and doesn't need a computer or other connection devices to get the most out of it. The Spartan is smaller and lighter. I haven't done any tweaking of the parameters after initial setup, so there may be some improvements yet to be had, but it works pretty good as is. Prices with servo are similar, but the Futaba gyro comes with it's own servo while the Spartan can be used with any servo and you get to choose which you'll use. If I were spending my money right now, I would get the Spartan, but you're good either way. Hope this helps. steve.

I have one going bad now that only has about 50 flights on it.
A friend of mine just had one fail as well.My tail just starts kicking like a wild mule especially under hard collective.

I think I am finished with futaba servos. The JR 8900 is still working great.
