Hi, I am looking to buy my brother an indoor heli so he can have something to do when he's traveling for work. Which would be better for a beginner and more fun. Both heli's are at my LHS and are affordable to me. Thank you for your comments and info.

+1 MCX, only because it would be a better hotel room flyer. I don't own an MCX, but I have flown one and they're great. I do own a CX2, and I love it as well, but the blades break easy. The MCX is supposed to be tough as nails. The CX2 requires a commitment; the MCX is a fling.

I travel and also own a mCX. Perfect for the motel room.

Yeah, important distinction Airfoil. Surfer, is your brother staying in Hotels or Motels. If he's in Motels, he may want to get the heavier CX2. The roaches will have a harder time stealing it.

Sorry I made a mistake. I stay in Hotels. I think you are an a##. Reguardless the mCX flies great.

WOW! Take a pill and relax. Just kidding. Having stayed in both, I was not picking on you.

I have both. Go for the MCX. Great for traveling and smaller rooms. Very tough little bird. I have crashed mine probally forty times now and still flying on the origional parts. Have a couple rips in the tail and body, nothing a little scotch tape didn't take care of. I have not even touched my CX since I got the MCX.

I just bought an mcx, it is really fun and already upgraded to a 130 battery for it. Thank you for all the comments.

Great choice! I now have both, just opened my mcx as a gift an hour ago and it flies great! I can't believe how stable and smooth it is, way better in the house than the cx2, cx2 more suited for out in the shop. Gonna need that second battery pretty soon!

go with a mcx. you won't be disappointed.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

Hands down the MCX, I fly it all the time and don't use my CX 2 anymore. You can even get custom scale bodies on the web now.
