I have just got a trex 450 and I need to make training gear for it. I have an simple dull rod and ping pong ball idea. Im just wonder if anybody has a better and cool way to do it. Ideas????

forget the mess and food. just see the training gear.
4mm rod.

i drilled a hole in center of balls.

i have small pieces of glued tubing on both sides of balls to keep balls from falling off.

2 tie wires at each point on skids

Make sure the rods are at least as long as the blades to start.

Neilg, the chicken looks really good! Can't wait until Christmas Day, we have a feast planned.

That is one of the straingest heli pics I have ever seen. But thanks for the advice. It looks like I was making them to long accourding to your pick. Thanks

Training Gear

I have had great luck with the following
4' 1/8 dia. rod cut in half. (Available at Lowes for $250
Golf practice balls. (plastic with multiple holes)
Available at any sporting goods place including KMart
I put a flat washer on both sides of the balls and retain it using a dab of JB weld on both sides.
The end result is lightweight and works great. All for under $5.

i usec 2 18" pieced of 1/8 inch carbon fiber ziptied to the bottomof my skids with small pieces of fome at the ends due to the size of the 450 it is not to much weight. only had them on for 2 flights and was done with that.
