Post the parts you have used on your EXI 450 and comments:
For those that are EXI building "on the cheap" here are some parts:
Brushless Motor & ESC combo:
Mystery D2632-3000 & 30A ESC, Purchased on ebay for $26.
I had to add Deans and Bannana plugs myself. Works fine for sport flying. Requires 2.3mm Pinion (13T or 14T) from heli direct.
Alpha 400 3500KV & Volcano 30A from Xheli
They sell a combo for $79. but it comes with a rather small battery (1800mAh). I prefer to use a 2200 mAh battery or higher. It does however come w/ the 13T pinion, bananna plugs and Deans connector w/ it. You just have to solder it all yourself. You can get the motor and ESC seperate and it will come w/ bannana plugs and pinion. Motor and 30A ESC are $27 each.
HXT900 Servos from hobbycity. Less than $4 each and Spare gears are $.99 each. Strong and quick for the price. I have these in one of mine. Decent bang for the buck analog servos. I have one on the tail as well. Fine IMHO for sport flying and mild flips.
Mystery 2200mAh 25C/30C batteries. I got mine off Ebay. 2 for less than $50 shipped from Hong Kong.
GY400 Gyro from r2hobbies. A GY401 clone. There are reports from others that this gyro works reasonably well with the HXT900 servos.
2.4Ghz Radio and Rx combo.
Same FlySky TX/RX combo that is sold at Xheli. You can get this from r2hobbies listed as "Turborix 2.4G 6 Channel Digital Programmable Radio Gear" for $42 or Xheli.
