One of my friend tried one. It runs, but doesn't have much power. Unless it's nearly free, and you NEED an engine RIGHT NOW. I'd pass.

Mike Prewitt (Raptor Technique) did an evaluation of one and wasn't very happy with it.

It's made by Sanye who also make Magnum , SC and ASP engines . I had a look at one , it had some swarf trapped between the liner and crankcase , which was visible at the exhaust port , so would have needed to have been disassembled and cleaned before running . The carb also looked very small for a 52 size heli engine .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Oh well

Back to the Redline, Hyper or YS options

Pitty, I thought this may have been a '4th' way

The 52 Evolution cropped up at least a year ago. Most had trouble with the carburetor -- setting the needles, and keeping the needles set. Most who tried it eventually ditched it.

Needles wander on the Evolution plank engines so I'm sure they engineered the same features into the heli line.... Good news is they put a roll pin in the needles so they can only wander so far!

At least you wont need a carb smart cus the needles will move for you.........kinda like my .53 Redline carb.

The only people who truly know where the edge lies, are those who have gone over.

I run one

I added a o ring for a bit of resistance. Havent fried it even with a auxially pinion drive for the generator and I've had a actual head temp at 340F based on a direct read themocouple.

Have a confirmed tached head speed over 2000 till it would not read on the MA tachometer. Had to back it down on the curve and thats on cheap 10% didn't trust the carbons or plastic blade grips.

Will hold a very low tickover idle all day long, even starts hot or cold with same tick over, never ever had a bearing problem. Has unlimited pump on the collective. You can hear it bear down a bit but other wise always sounds like it's barely working. It's heavey though at almost a full Lb. Its a massive ugley thing but Seems to get along in my Titan. Does have a bit of a fat dwell spot at mid range - but I run it fat anyway. Mileage is getting better after about 5 gallons.

I have a few evo plane engines and some work great but some wont run at all! I had a .61 in a sundowner and it ran great but was pulling about 87mph when i put an o.s in it it was well over 100mph so there not great for power.
