laughingstill,
Go to Heliproz south, search for QUKTX7C-07
that will pull out the Rocket City convertion set for the 700. Well worth it.

I can fly some decent 2 1/2D and FAI style stuff. The MA 90 felt solid on a hover and tracked in fast moving manuevers perfectly straight an very predictable, yet when I cranked the cyclic it was fast, yet felt very linear. Although I have almost unlimited power, collective management was required, Nick had way more collective that a mortal like me can handle. I just took mental note not to put the sticks to the ends! I did a BIG nose down full speed funnel and then squeezed to a very tight one right in front of us, so nice and effortlessly I kept saying "Am I flying this?". It felt so light, and even sideways tracked like on rails.

Yes alot is on the setup, but the MA90 felt like a perfect Sim, that is what I mean by surreal.

moneypitvictim,

thanks for your reply.

In the videos of Nick and Bobby the new MA seems to be a missile. Did you feel that it really is faster than other 90`s or was that biased by camera work?

What Pitch range does Nick use?
I think more than 13° is overkill. Almost perfectly set up engines will bog.

I hope that MA will make us the present before summer...

How fast is it? IT IS a missile, but I never open it up out of respect. To be frankly, when you are flying one of four machines in the world, and you are fortunate to know someone like Nick, you dont want to push the boundaries, specially on a crowded place like IRCHA.
I was very honored when he asked me to give it a spin, and he knew I would not do anything stupid. That was my highlight of the year.
Last time he came came over my field to hang out, I stood next to him as he was testing it out, and literaly FELT the acceleation and how fast it changed directions.

How much collective Nick uses, I can tell you it more than 13degress. Some of the tricks he does, he may hit max for a fraction of a second, but you NEVER hear the motor bog. I dont know if there is ever been a video of his hands movements, but Nick barely moves the sticks. 1st time I saw him doing a piro-flip 5 years ago, It floored me how smooth he was and how little input he did with his hands.

I hate twitchy helicopters, and the MA 90 was anything but twitchy, but when you told it to, it really goes!

As far as 90s go...I've owned an Avant FX with programmable head, Fury Tempest with 3D head and TRex 700E. The 700E is the best I've owned when considering all factors.

I am actually embarassed to list how many helis I have spent my hard earned money on Funny thing is I never became a better pilot by buying any of them. None of them has magically made me fly like Alan Szabo or Lucus Riva

Its been fun having them all but also very expensive!!

Have a Merry Christmas all!!

Is all about having fun flying, messing with them and making friends in the process. Very, very few of us will ever reach the talents of Lucas or Alan. If that was the case, it would be boring.

If you did not enjoy yourself building and flying all those helis, then I would say "what an embarrasing waste of time", otherwise, many of us would look up to you for having the means or opportunity to tried out that many toys!

Merry Christmas to all

I have had a lot of fun... Its just funny looking back at all of them

I have done this long enough to know that a really good pilot can win with any of these machines...

The best thing that has come out of this hobby for me is the people I have met and the friends I have made. We all have a strange sickness!! Its fun having friends that share and understand it

Each modern 90 is great. It is a matter of taste.

But if you like the flying characteristics you feel more comfortable and secure in what you are doing in the air. And that pushes you forward. From that point some helicopters may indeed make you a better pilot. All other is training.
For me such a key helicopter was a V-bared Logo 500. It had a good locked in feel and therefore I suddenly did things that I before had exercised only on the SIM.
After that experience and some training there were no fears anymore pushing around all my 90`s (Vibe, Synergy) the same way trying pirouetting loops, piroflips, piroflip loops and so on.
You can reach the next floor in 90 flying and it opens you the doors to new maneuvres and enjoying the immense power and capability of a 90.

Merry Christmas!

very well said !!

I know a few that have given up their more expensive 90s for the Century Predator, and they are very happy with the Predator..

I personally would only trade my predator for maybe an aurora or the upcoming vibe.

Lots of great heli's out there, some do things better than others. I don't think there is 1 heli that can claim the top spot without someone saying different. Fly what catches your eye.

Now with all this said, we still haven't decided which 90 is best for indoor use (as far as I'm aware, that is; but I may have missed it). Perhaps we should start a poll??? Btw, my vote would go with whatever everybody else decides.

**Not intending a hijack here but one other thing real quick: I saw this new rocketry sim at the LHS called "Launch-It". I think you can d/l it as an add-on module for the G4 (it's about time bloody time we get a rocket sim!! ) ...has anybody else seen this???
