Take the unit off the Heli altogether, fit power pack to each end Tx and Rx and test the range of the units stand alone.
I did it, didn't you seen my vidéos?

or answers to my emails.
That's probably where you went wrong if your'e the same in
E-mail as you are here.
I'd be the first to suggset you buy elswhere for more $ and I dont think that recomendation would be a diservice to range video.
didn't you seen my vidéos?
Nope
If thats the case then I'd suggest the Rx is possibly suspect.
Had out of tune Rx units from all sellers of the gear.

I use the 200mW 900 units and run them at 8v to reduce power more with std antenna and they get very good range line of sight.
Yours is 500mW at full power.

Better antenna may do it, or another Rx to try with it.
Frankly, the price he charges for the gear it may be worth to get another and send the one you got back if it turns out a dud.

I had a response of Rangevideo today I started to worry.

It's normal that I didn't received the second antenna.
I understand that I owe you one antenna.
Just don't have it in stock yet.
They could say when I made the order.

I will make a last test today, if it doesn't work better I will ask to RV for an exchange.

At this site they give range for more 500 meters for the TX http://www.nghobbies.com/cart/index...products_id=259

Eh.. now I'm confused. How did you test it if you didn't have one of the antennas?

EDIT: Never mind, just looked at Range Videos website, apparently they give you two antennas. Where as when I bought both of mine, I only got the skinny wire one.

In fact, Rappy60, the TX should be sended with two antennas
Purchase includes :
- TX-900-500
- 1/2 wave 2dBi dipole transmitter vertical antenna
- thin antenna, as seen in the picture at the bottom of the page
- RCA adapter cable
------

Your purchase will include 2 antennas - 2dBi vertical and the thin one you see on the picture above
And I received only one for the TX instead of two

I made a new test this afternoon I will show you when the video will be uploaded, it's better that firsts videos.

In fact, the wires of the TX were very damaged in the connector, they held with a single strand and I cut then I re-welded.
I don't know if that was the cause of my problem reception.

I saw that they were damaged when I set the lens I had like faulse contact that made interference, the same on my vids.

You need good connections for power, output is relevant to current available to the unit to power it, so the less current you get to the unit the lower output you will have from the Tx.

Might be an idea to isolate the unit on the tail boom as well as you can as they can vibrate at quite high frequency compared to the main frame.
High frequency vibration could kill a Tx like that in a thin case with very little supprt of the PCB inside it.
(Ive certainly had nasty interference from vibration with Tx on the boom)
Ended up with one strung between boom stays with rubber bands to hold it and isolate it.

I will do another mount later.

This is the video of my last test yesterday

But antennas have vertical polarization.

I tried in horizntal position at the first test.

I can't say if it's not good because the wires were damaged, I used a 9V 150mAh battery and I didn't have good reception.

I will test like you say, may be it works.

900 MHz 1 watt transmitter

Friends,

Has anyone ever used one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...em=330282283171

It is a discontinued item. I see them every now & then on eBay. I have even seen a 1.5 watt product.
