Hi. Apart from that tail problem. Since you are flying it for so long, any other issues?

thier is one other item to replace not due to the fact its a defect or something that fails. but i would recomend that you get the flybar control arm cage, it will improve the model control completely, and it is an upgrade that to me beef up the head completely.

part number for the item from horizonhobby.com (which i am personaly useing) is KSJ1334

QUICK UK also has the same cage but in silver, (if you do not like it in gold)

the grips work just fine, but the metal grip will ofcourse stiffin the models head unit. which is a plus for 3D i been flying the plastic grips for the longest time, but all i am is about JR and vibes so i upgraded because i only fly vibe's

I prefer the KSJ flybar cage than the Quick UK one. There's more screws on the KSJ flybar cage for securing the flybar. And the metal is tougher too.

I have flown my Vibe 90 for a year and there's no problem with the tail, except for a brief period when a bearing worn out. You have to put in effort to assemble everything correctly and mesh the gear properly.

I like the Vibe 90 for it's simplicity and excellent flying characteristic. The "manly" hum from the crown gear is something to get used to. I enjoy good parts support from LHS, probably because there's so few parts to change.

If you need help, we can always meet up.

One thing I am curious about the tail problems on Vibe 90 is how are the top pilots (even designers) like Curtis Youngblood and Scott Gray does not have any problems with the tail while some owners of the same model have

JR Vibe 90 , Sylphide 90 C , JR Vibe 50 , JR AS 50 , T-rex SE V2 , Raptor 50 Titan

Tail of Vibe 90

This is what Buzzin Brian (CY's right-hand man) wrote about constructing the gearbox;

cheers

g

Most times the gear boxes fracture because of how the set screws that are in the outer aluminum clamp are tightened down. When you put the clamp on the boom and insert the gearbox into the end of the boom you want the set screws to all be out or very loose. When the tail gear box is fully inserted you now tighten the lower clamp screw (on the bottom of the clamp) until it is very tight. Don't strip it, but make sure it is good and tight. Also be aware that the bottom screw that mounts the vertical fin is in the same hole as the clamp screw, so the fin screw needs to be out as well before tightening the clamp. Now after the clamp screw is good and tight move to the set screws. There are 4 set screws on the outer ring of the clamp. On the tail rotor side of the clamp there are 2 set screws together. The front one, or the one closest to the nose of the heli needs to be tightened down pretty good. This puts a dimple in the boom, and helps keep the box from rotating on the boom. All of the rest need to be screwed in until they just touch the gear box. When they touch give them one LITTLE tweak more to just snug them and that is it. THE SET SCREWS DO NOT HOLD THE GEAR BOX ON IN ANY WAY!!!!!!!!! I can't stress that enough! If you tighten the set screws down it just diggs 3 holes into the plastic gear box, leading to it breaking off in flight. Follow this proceedure and you should not have this issue again unless you have a nasty vibration, or something else wrong. Hope this helps some.

Brian
