Hi guys,

Is it true that Jamie Robertson is not attending 3D Masters this year? I don't see his name on this list: http://www.3dmasters.org.uk/2009entrants.htm

Is that the final confirmed list?

Regards,
G

I wonder what happened to all the other 'hot' US pilots
It takes a big chunk of someones budget from anyone in the US to attend the Masters. With our economy on bandaids, and the commitment to practice that the Masters requires, is no surprise to see many US pilots not there. It is funny to see a flock of "cheap" 700 flooding the entries.

On the flip side, we are missing Lucas and Dominic from the XFC this weekend.

Hi,

I do not fly Align. But if I were at a level to compete, and after seeing Align's offer for 3D Masters, heck, I would switch to the 700 right away...

I wish more heli manufacturers offered cash rewards to the pilots at competitions...

Regards,
G

Yeah, seems to be lacking the dynamism of previous years.

Nup, its too hard to keep up with the flying standards! Damn kids. Not to mention $$$ to travel.

It's a pity we never met last year, oh well. I did try and keep out an eye for you drinking outta your CP bottle!

Seems people are becoming less & less interested in competitions all over the world. It's a pity as it promotes better flying skills and I love competing.

Hmm 42 degrees,

not only is that unpleasantly hot, it will also cause power loss for the nitro engine users.
Spain is very changeable wind conditions too, could be still for one pilot and a Morrocan gale for the next.
On the one hand I'm sad I'm going to miss some good flying and on the other hand I'm glad I'm not going to get cooked after spending a small fortune on plane tickets to see a sundried shrivelled version of 3d masters.

Hot?? Chris, surely you're used to it!

Yeah, we need live updates! Mark Ryder was brilliant at that, posting pics & vids asap etc.

Maybe the lack of interest is because it hasn't attracted enough of the big names due to the current economic situation or just that pilots do not rate the masters as they did. I know several people who feel differently about it now especially after the move away from the UK.

I hope it comes back to the UK next year although I fear the damage has been done.
