I fly my King with the DX7 and I like it very much. There isn't that much difference between a DX7 and DX6. You should be fine.

No I dont use a DX6 although I use a Futaba 6EX on my King2, firefox 100, TREX450SEV1, and raptor 30.

the 3 point pitch/throttle curves and a few other things on the DX6 sent me to the futaba 6EX. But the static and brownout issues dont seem to happen with the AR6000 RX on the king like the Rex 500 and some other helis.
