well guys I am thinking raptor for sure, what all do I need to do to it. I know the hub (part number anyone?) what else? I am going to put in an order tommorrow for it. What tail blades etc?? is the pipe ok that it comes with or should I use my align pipe. I have an os 50 hyper hitec 6975 servos, 770 gyro with 8900, ar7100r reciever with rev limiter and a 6v revciever pack. What is the newer style canopy ?? Part numbers??

BTW the T-Rex 600E canopy fits great on a Raptor!!! I will come back and post a pic.
I put one on mine because it was given to me. I like the look alot better. I had to trim very slightly around the landing gear and the muffler. Took a hole 5 minutes. The carbon fin and stab also fit very well. Just use the align bracket if you use the stab.
What tail blades etc??
very stiff ones. cy95's are the best, align plastic are really good, align carbon next, haven't tried knb but they feel pretty good. Stock tail blades are ok for beginners but are a bit too flexible. Mavrik plastic sucks!!!!!

Bty, if you do run cy 95's ...Use A longer Tail Fin....(align carbon tail) They are kinda expensive to be useing as tillers..

The standard kit exhaust sucks BIG TIME Ebay it and the wooden blades (more money back from the kit price )

I would go for the TT Redline (new carb only) with Hatori 523, or OS Hyper fitted with SKS metal shielded bearings (from your local bearing supplier) and Hatori 522.

Sorry to be picky Heli 770, but the part number for the hub is

PV0499, SUS Tail Hub.

(not PVO499, it's the number 0 not letter o)

I've just placed my order for:-
Titan 50 and the new yellow 3D canopy PV6067Y. I already have the Kasama head and Kasama tail.

I'll post pics next week when it's all up and running.

3D Canopy numbers
PV6067Y
PV6067L
PV6067R
PV0502

one thing I never liked about Raptors is the head shimmy they always seem to develop out of the blue, but I solved the problem by adapting the TREX head to my Titan. I'd have to say the limited amount of flight time on the new head was absolutely a pleasure, it got rid of the bad habits and it hovered hands off beautifully, silky smooth and pretty good cyclic rate as well. The other problem was that parts pricing was kind of high and the upgrade parts pricing is ridiculous. Other than that I have fond memories of my Raptor.

What common crash parts are cheaper for the T-Rex than the Titan Raptor? I see this post in the Align board all the time and I just can't make sense of it.

Titan tail boom = $5 and no expensive torque tube.
Titan Frame = $28 and I have never broke one.

T-Rex carbon frame = $130 frame is very thin with landing gear securely mounted to it. Haven't crashed my Rex yet but even with nylon gear bolts I bet my frame breaks.

Landing Gear?

Front frame?

My Raptor has never developed a "shimmy" and I hope you didn't put that god aweful army green head on your Raptor

A dear friend of mine spent a fortune on upgrading his raptor and in no way what so ever did it fly anyway near as good as the Vibe.

The 20g paddles are a good bit more active than the white 25g and a whole lot more than the black stock paddles.

Rbush: you're pathetic.
So to sum up, the vibe is:-
expensive,
has to be built like a watch,
fussy on tail blades,
prone to vibration,
rips it's tail off,
not very nicely made canopy glassing
AND is NOT immune to faulty components within the kit.
You don't have first hand experience on any of those except one faulty (I wouldn't call it faulty... more like 0.1mm out of spec) component. What makes things even worse, is that I publically offered you, more than once, a head block free of charge to get you going (which, as you know, as a JR item, isn't cheap) and yet you prefered to wuss up.

You know what I think? I think you suffer the "Dr. House" syndrome. You just have to feel miserable or life wouldn't be the same for you.

Oh and one more thing. Its sad I have to go over to the TT forum to read your constructive ( ) criticism about a JR helicopter. You can't even stand up and post this rubbish on the JR forum... but oh I forgot... people would probably call you an idiot instead of cheering like over here.

I honestly wish you the best with your new rappy and that it might be the best bird you've ever owned.

I'm out.

Tony

Some people are never happy with anything!! I've had a raptor 50 before and now have a trex 600n. The 600N is miles better than raptor 50. I have nearly 150 flights on Trex and it still going strong and no wear yet. Rbush you had a 600N superpro and sold it never flown and again with Vibe!! These helicopters are very good and went back to a Craptor!!

Frankly I am very dissapointed in your demanor, you sound like a one gallon know it all mechanic who takes no pride in building a helicopter. I am sure that you will have issues with a Raptor or any other brand as well.
Quality is purchased by choise, and that is why I have 3 Vibes, however the Raptor is a good helicopter as well but more for the inexperienced in building techniques and abilities. I would say that most helicopters need the runout checked on the fans. I will give you that the tail blades supplied with the Vibe are not good and should be replaced immediately with CF blades. If you have building knowledge you will find it will go together superbly. It is unfortunately that you had one manufactured part that was not up to the JR spec. I can't even imanage you purchasing an extreme 50, where nothing fit's or strips or is weak and bends. You would of been screaming all over everyones forums.
I suggest that you sell the Vibe and get what you want, and when you do we all will be waiting for you to do a build report and see if the threads are straight in the plastic fan where you can't change it but just get another one. There are several good buy's here on RR with some Raptors already built so you won't have to go through the pain or have more problems with the build.

You need to take a pill and relax

The raptor is a good heli. i dont think anyone can say that its not! However, the vibe 50 and the raptor should not even be talked about in the same conversation. there is no comparison. The raptors are still good helis but they are outdated. come over to the jr forums if you want to know the real story on the vibe 50. there is many expirienced people on there that have owned all the different 50'S and extensivly flown them. the vibe 50 is not hard to build at all. its actually very easy!

REAL STORY ON THE VIBE= BUY IT, BUILD IT, DONT USE THE STOCK TAIL BLADES AT ALL, AND FLY IT!! ITS THAT EASY

Vibe Post on TT

How ca you guy's compare Titan and VIBE 50!!!!!!! I own two raptors, SE and Titan, Trex 600 Nitro and VIBE 50. I can say from both flying and experience that VIBE is best flying machine IMHO. Just look at the mechanics of VIBE and Raptor, you do not need a Science degree to figure out what is better. Please don't take me wrong here as Raptor is a good machine but not in same league as VIBE.
