The linkage rods marked "A" in the manual (mixing lever to blade grips) seem way too short. To get the blade pitch at zero when the the mixer levers are level I had to use some spare "C" size linkage arms, which are 5mm longer. Otherwise the ball links were sitting dangerously close to the ends of the rods, i.e. 2 turns each end.

Has anyone else experienced this? As far as I can tell the link length is defined purely by the geometry of the main rotor hub and seesaw hub, so it's not like it's caused by the other links set incorrectly or some other setup problem.

Maybe my search skills are lacking but I haven't found any other posts about this. Surprised since it seems significant.

You have the mixer arms on upside down. Otherwise there is no way you can have the upper links unscrewed near that far out.
