I've got TT carbon blades on my 600, they measure 605mm from tip to hole centre. I have some Trex700 tail blades that are 105mm that I would like to fit but the disk arcs look very close.

Has anyone been flying with this combination of blades?

The main blades might hit the tail blades – depends on the main blade length.

I once tried 620mm main blades with the stock tail blades and there was zero clearance so I installed a set of slightly shorter tail blades. If you try it make sure you have plenty of clearance. To swing 620 blades for 3D you need more power so I went back to 600mm blades and stock tail blades.

What problem are you having? Installing longer tail blades will help the tail hold slightly better but they will also take a lot more power. A much better solution is to get a better gyro/servo and use stock length blades. With a good gyro/servo the stock blades the tail will hold during hard 3D.

One other cause of the tail not to hold is the headspeed is too low or the pitch is too high. 2100 with +/- 11 degrees of pitch is just right for 3D.

Thanks BTS,

I have no problems with my tail it's just that I was given a set the other day for free. I do not have a 700 so was wondering if I could use them on the 600.

I have used the 105mm ms composit tail blades on my 600 b4. I thought it was too close for comfort. The first three flights i would be very careful but after feeling comfortable I was killing it. Extreme tail authority. Held better than it ever has. I did not notice any change in flight time. As a matter of fact there was no down side to this from my view point

That's great, thought it would have chewed the battery quicker! Do you still use them? What size are your main from hole centre to tip?

I would have thought it would have killed the batteries fast too.I do still use them. I will have to measure the width when I am back at home but for now I can tell you they are 600mm ms composit
