except that Futaba is losing the 2.4 war =P

Spektrum is so available everywhere. Most LHS around here anyway have a BIG wall of Spektrum stuff and maybe a few Faast systems and Rxs.. every single fly in I've been to most people have JR/Spektrum now.
Local field is same way.

Futaba in my opinion flat out rules the Gyro market but their RX/TX systems just arn't doing as well.
Maybe its all the Eflight and other Horizon products that all come with various Spektrum TXs over flooding the market..
but even here you look at see tons of Spektrum stuff for sale and hardly any Futaba.

anyway.. just a cruel reminder to always always save receipts.
Mine all go into a big ass RC folder.

so I can pull up anything I buy.
I was able to get my free RX last year was a great promo.
Never had an issue with Horizon support.

I can tell you first hand that Horizon Hobby is first class! I've been in this hobby for over 35 years and I've never had an issue with anything Horizon Hobby has done. They support local and National funflies, invent new products, and their support has always been timely and accurate. I've had the opportunity to meet several of them at funflies and trade shows. Everyone of them is dedicated to their customers. Truely a well managed company with great employees.

I'm certainly sorry to hear that your experience with Horizon Hobby has not been the same as mine. I hope you'll give them another chance.

You can always have the vendor where you bought it from if it is possible to reprint your receipts. Sometimes they will help you one way or another.

I cant speak highly enough about horizon support. in the special offer deal there were rules and these rules included proving past and current purchases sounds like if you had kept your receipts you would have received 1 more receiver for free.

I hate to say it bud but you are wrong here! IMO

Try taking pictures of all the stuff you were supposed to have receipts for and I bet they will honor the deal.

Looking at the promotion rules posted on http://www.spektrumrc.com/giveaway/

It says:
Offer is limited to the following Spektrum and JR receivers: SR3000-SPM1200; SR3000HRS-SPM1202; SR3001-SPM1205; SR3100-SPMSR3100; SR3500-SPM1210; AR6000-SPM6000; AR6100-SPM6100; AR6100e-SPMAR6100E; AR6200-SPMAR6200; AR6300-SPMAR6300; AR7000-SPM6070; AR9000-SPMAR9000; AR9100-SPMAR9100; R921-JRPR921; R1221-JRPR1221. All other versions or not-for-resale products are ineligible for this offer. This offer is only available while supplies last.
the AR7100R is not listed.
Translation: It means you lose.

All because you chose not to read the fine print (and it's Horizon's fault)

Yep, Leave it to Dood to figure it out. You have no right to be sore with Horizon, they are the BEST service going these days. Wait till you have an issue with something you own, they will probably just send you a new one.

If not, I'll give you $100 for all your Spektrum stuff.......

Oh, and I'm sure after they read your post they will just send you one of everything they have for free. There are better ways to go about venting about a great company like Horizon, I'd try one of them.

Quick...here comes my wife....hide that new Heli !!!!

And from that quote, as if to rub it in just a bit..
All other versions or not-for-resale products are ineligible for this offer.

With regard to your LHS calling to make sure...maybe they wanted to make a sale. When in doubt, do it yourself.

So what did Horizon Hobby do wrong?
Failed to send the fellow a new free AR7100R receiver as part of the buy one-get-one-free promotion from earlier this year.

Except the 7100R was not included in the eligible receivers as specified in the offer literature. Although he did get an extra AR9000 to match the one he bought and provided proof-of-purchase for.

When told the AR7100R wasn't part of the promotion, a hissy fit followed, with a
I then informed them that over the last year I had also purchased a module for my 10x + 2 ar9000 + 2 ar7000 +2 ar6200 +2 ar6100 maybee could they send me just another ar9000 they wanted all old reciets ( don't have anymore )or I am out of luck .
argument. Except they wanted receipts, proof-of-purchase, which apparently couldn't be produced.

As far as we can tell, Horizon lived up to the letter of their promotion and did nothing wrong.

Yeap, don't you hate it when company starts by holding to what they said, then decide to even go the EXTRA step to make the customer happy, but the customer can't prove what they say.

Yeap, that is BAD service.
