Hello to all,
I'm working on a scale model with an elevated tail and I'm hoping someone can shed light on a mechanical setup issue I have.
I want to have a seperate brushless motor driving the tail rotor and I have no idea how to rig it up. I assume I'll need a seperate ESC to drive it in gov mode for a constant 10k rpm from my rough calculations, but do I control it via the throttle channel with a Y-connector or through another channel using end-points?
The Joker 3DD has a seperate Kora tail motor driving the torque tube and is a pretty close concept to what I want to build:

Assuming I can get this hooked up properly, are there any guidelines or rules-of-thumb I should be aware of like spool-up rate, optimal rpm (I'm guessing a 5:1 ratio of the main rotor disk), etc.?
