I own an Avant and need some of that great product support. What's the phone number to call?

I was Spektrum when Spektrum wasn't cool

There are some very unhappy customers on the aurora forum here who would also like that phone number, Dooooooood.

Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

I've sworn many months ago I wouldn't even read an aurora thread but damm I couldn't resist.
As far as Sprague goes, yes there have been issues but thats it! The Aurora has probably had less issues with the release than any other manufacture out there!

OR, you can get a 700 that has ball links breaking, main gears stripping, swash plates falling parts, slop everywhere...should I go on?
Hmm... are you comparing problems between 50 aurora kits out there and maybe 1000 or more 700N kits?

Just let the number rise and problems will begin. Its directly related to the amount of sold kits. Why didn't those issues came up while the aurora was only flown by a few enlighten ones?

No, not at all! I am comparing my two Auroras to my one T700. That's my first hand knowlege in owning both machines, not second hand knowledge from a bunch of people that have a hard-on for certain companies.

Holy cow I hope not!

That was a total piece of cr@p! Poor design. Poor execution. Poor parts support, since the company closed.

Saturday morning I flew my helicopter in my pajamas
How it got in my pajamas I'll never know

It actually had some great designs. They just didn't work in the real world. One piece tubular special steel frames. Special torsion bar helper on the gull wing doors. Center gas tank design for crash safety. etc.. All kinds of neat designs that look good in the advertising that just don't play out in everyday use.

I'm not knocking the Aurora at all. I don't own one. They do look nice but they wouldn't be worth the extra cash to me. But I'm sure some guys love them.

I currently fly Trex600E/N and an Aurora and love all of them for different reasons so I consider myself relatively unbiased.

Yes there is/are a lot of politics and bad/poor PR about this heli none of which I will defend.

The biggest problem at the moment is widespread distribution of the kit only. Parts on the other hand are available all over the place and in good supply.

Ignoring all of the politics etc this is what I think:

1. The build quality is amazing
2. The profile and balance of the heli is spot on
3. It looks great (very important)
4. Very easy to work on
5. The heli floats in the air and is as nimble as a well setup 50
6. Fully customizable head
7. No upgrades required

All heli's have problems, the Aurora is no exception.

1. The sprag bearing was initially packed with the incorrect grease, cleaning the bearing and replacing it with ATF or the correct grease fixes the problem if caught earily (this is relatively minor IMO).
2. The starter oneway screeches (slips) a bit, but is still functional, a third party cheap bearing eliminates this (also relatively minor IMO).
3. Crash cost are expensive but this is a high quality heli so suck it up
4. There is no manufacturer support number, although the Avant forum support is there... all be it a little slow (I've never not been replied to or helped).

Now there's an "unemotional" and I would suggest "accurate" response. I've not flown the Aurora, but have an Avant. If it is just as good as an Avant, buy one. If not, buy a S/H Avant and put a Raptor tail hub on it which eliminates the weak Hirobo part.
The Avant with the CX head is awesome. The conversion for the Hirobo head was not so nice to fly IMHO

Well I see it as the next step from the Avant and that is superb. Politics apart, I'm sure for quality and for flying it will be one of the best out there and I would not let myself be put off by the normal stuff on here.
Try Midland or Real Raptors as I believe they should have stock kits

That you can send it back and that it will be replaced. What more could you ask for?

I don't think it is right to call people out like that. Perhaps DS 8717 wanted to SPEAK with someone at Avant RC in the past, like I have. Perhaps he did email and go NO RESPONSE like I and other have had in the past.

LOL! Just stating fact. We should all reserve our comments to machines we actually fly. He flys Vibe 50's. AvantRC doesn't owe him a thing! He doesn't own an Aurora.

I would ask a question of you: What does the availability of support have to do with a part problem?

Agusto has not adressed this issue on the forum. the only thing on the forum about this is what other people have tried to do about it.
agusto is not supporting the forum as he should. I had this same issue with a vigor ,and the only fix was a larger one way and bigger shaft. What other people have done or tried is not factory supprt.
