hi all
anyone know if one can calibrate the dx7 ?

mine is 2 degree diff between pos an neg pitch. really irritating to try and get pitch travel correct.

i tested on another dx7 and no issues there. and i tried 3 receivers.. different servos and on 3 helis.. all same issue.. more negative than positive.

thanks in advance

Liaan

Here is the "Secret Recipe" for the DX7 or XP7202 service menu.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK - DO NOT ASK ME FOR HELP ON THIS, AS I CANNOT HELP.

However, I would be interested in any cool things that you might discover.

Basically, this is useful if you need to recalibrate your joystick centers and min/max values (my DX7 was a bit off on the right stick, but now it's fixed).

-Hilgert

-----------------------------

Power up the 7202 with SCROLL DOWN & SELECT pressed, use DOWN to get to Model Reset, DOWN & SELECT to enter the reset menu, use the AILE D/R Switch to toggle with the EDIT + & -. 5 Cycles takes you into the Service Menu.

Entering the menu gives you a Dark Screen (pixel test), Scroll Up gives you Switch Test, SCR UP then gives you Battery Alarm and Displayed Voltage, SCR Up then gives you Stick Centres ( Hex Codes), SCR Up then gives you Stick Calibration, use the CLEAR to save the data, use SELECT to select the stick being calibrated, SCR Up gives you "ALL Settings OK ? " press the CLEAR key for Yes.

Thanks, billrad, that was what I needed. My throttle stick makes use of the full range now.

It's kind of odd to get into. Here's my steps:
Ensure the Aileron D/R switch is in the UP position.
Press and hold the DOWN and SELECT buttons and turn on radio. Now you're in the setup menu.
Scroll up/down until you get to the screen that says [Model Reset]
Press the Adjust Descrease button (r/h side of LCD)
Flip the Aileron D/R switch down
Press the Adjust Increase button
Flip the Aileron D/R switch up
Press the Adjust Descrease button
Keep alternating this Aileron D/Rup/down and Adjust Increase/Decrease sequence (about 5 cycles as Hilgert said)
The radio will 'beep' and the LCD will go dark. This is the LCD test.
Scroll Up/Down (left side of LCD screen) through the Service Menu (at your own risk)

Spektrum DX7 stick centering.

For the last year, I've been living with a throttle "center stick" position that was about one bar width above the index on the gimbal. This has always annoyed me and it was inconvenient when it came time to level a helicopter swashplate.

With the use of the instructions provided on the first post in this topic and a little fiddling, I managed to reset the stick center position and end point adjustments.

On the Stick Center? page, center all the sticks and let go! Press the CLEAR button.

On the next page (it lists 3 hexadecimal values for each of ST1, ST2, ST3 and ST4). Use the select button to select an axis. Ex: Throttle is ST3. Move the throttle to full up position, press CLEAR. Move the throttle to full down, press CLEAR. Repeat for each axis.

Now your center points and end points are calibrated!

When you are done, go to the All Settings OK? page and press CLEAR.

Glad I found this post! My DX7 was outputting 2% throttle at Zero stick. After performing this easy calibration, zero is now zero!

Thanks guys!
