A regular hacksaw will take the button off and sever the button screw in about 10 seconds nice and clean. Both go in the bin and you're good to go

I am not flaming align, but I think the quality of the screws(at least those on the main frame of the 700N) is really really bad. I admit that I have stripped screws before, but if my current hex wrench was good enough to undo the screws on my engine head(which was really really tight), then it must at least be good enough to remove a few screws on the frame right? And here comes the best part...I did not even use loctite for the ones that I stripped-the two under the baseplate.

Most of the screws on the 700N that align supplied were fine, the ones that I really have problem with are the main frames ones. I mean, why can they just use some normal cap screw like everybody else?

Is there any alternative to these screws on the main frame?

I'm getting ready to build my 700N kit and after reading all the posts in threads about stripped screws on the 700N I ordered this screw kit....

http://www.rcscrewz.com/product_inf...roducts_id/3017

A bit pricey I know but I'm hoping it will save me a bunch of aggrevation down the road.

That screw kit does not include the special 3mm button head screws, ask me how I know. I just ordered the special washer and bolt kit here http://www.lironheliproducts.com/ this will solve any further problems.Yogi

I had strip screws on my trex 500 as well, i replaced all the screws and fasteners on the kit with rc screws and it as very easy to service. No more strip screws.
I'm going to do the same for the trex 700 from the get go.

Its been said before but the quick fix is to get the align hex set. Never had any problem stripping the screws and I tighten them up pretty damn tight.
