Please Read!

Well guys the event is 2 weeks from today and things are coming together fast.

Hobbico has already stepped up big time as a sponsor for us this year.

We really appreciate our sponsors whether they donate a lot or a little, it goes to the pilots for pilots prizes at our evening pilot give away after our meal.

I want to explain a few things to make sure everyone understands. If you buy a Raffle Ticket for our top prize which I know will be "at least" one helicopter (more details later) you do not have to be present to receive your prize, it can be sent to you if you put your name on the ticket.

If you donate money to the night fly contest and your name is drawn as a prize winner, you do not have to be here to get your prize, it can be sent to you if you put your name on the ticket.

However, if you want to win many of the fine prizes we intend to have at the pilot give away on Saturday night, then you need to be present to win and I think we are going to have some nice prizes indeed. Furthermore we will give out our awards to the winners of each contest (unless they have left, then we will just recognize them as the contest winner)

Also the night flying contest is open to anyone and the winner of it will receive CASH, donated by the pilots.

I believe we will pick the night fly winner just like they do at IRCHA, by audience response, because if we do it by counting ballots from everyone it might take a while.

However, if there is no definite winner chosen by the the audience, we reserve the right to have a committee of about 5 guys pick between those getting the loudest applause.

We will have a nice item picked out to give away to the at least one persona and possibly another item for a second person that donates to the nightflying contest, (remember if you donate and put your name on the ticket then you do not have to be here to win) We are doing this to encourage donations to the contest.

So far there are no guarantees of any top pros entering the night fly contest, it is open to any and everyone. However, if the top pros don't actually enter this contest, then it could come down to some really good pilots that are not top pros winning the night fly contest, or taking second or third in the contest. So the cash would then be split between the three top winners.

Having said that, Nick Maxwell has said that if he doesn't enter the contest he intends to do a night fly demo, which would make for a nice finale

So bring your night flying equipment and blades, and don't dare crash during the previous two days, because if you like to night fly you just might have a chance to win some cash in the contest, especially if all the pros decided to do demos instead of actually entering

Furthermore, we plan to keep the order of contestants anonymous before the audience votes for the winner. For those of you that have been to IRCHA you know what I mean, for those of you that have not you will get to see how they do it, but right here at the SRC

If all goes well the night flying could be the most anticipated event of the weekend.

Two more weeks!

Contests/awards

There will be more coming in next day or so on the contests we are having on Saturday. Just as a nibble I am posting an example of one award and as you can see they are beautiful this year.
Nonsponsored 3D, scale, autos, intermediate pilots contest, and a novice contest. Detail on these will be coming soon. Awards like this are for the classes I have mentioned. First thru 3rd place in these categories. More to come on what it takes in next few days.

Anyone from Houston area going with an empty seat in their car would like to share a ride/expenses staying over is fine would need room for 1 T700N and 1 V50 and flight gear.
I got USNAviationJay covered. I also have room for 2 more in the Expedition. I will be pulling a trailer for the helis to ride in. So if some one from the Houston area needs a ride. Or if someone on the way to there. Let me know.

Our sponsor list continues to grow!

Guys, we are not there just yet, but can you feel the excitement growing more and more. We are adding more sponsors for more pilot prizes and there are more names being added to our "whose coming list as well".

Jeremy Harvey is our newest supporter or the event. He will be able to tell us more about his new enterprise at the event.

Carl Bonta from Hyperperformace RC is stepping up and donating to our event.

Also Darryl (Big D) Bell is coming to the event. If you have been to IRCHA, you know who Darryl is, because he has done some of the announcing at Ircha for years and is always fun to be around. For those of you that don't know Darryl, well let's just say it would be hard to meet a more fun loving nice guy then Darryl.

Hey Terry, I'd just like to clarify that JeremyHarveyRC isn't a business, but a means to encourage people in the hobby and bring awareness to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

All profits that comes into JeremyHarveyRC through T-Shirt sales goes 100% to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

TSRHC treats Texas children with orthopedic conditions, such as scoliosis, clubfoot, hand disorders, hip disorders and limb length differences, as well as certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia.

There website is http://tsrhc.org

Thanks

TCU,
Make sure you bring something to fly and the field support for the heli. You should bring a canopy for some shade, Lawn Chairs, and if you would like a table to help with your setup. The field usually has food and drinks for you to buy, but if you wont to bring your own you can.

SRC what to bring / Last call Lodging remindeer

Of course anyone from this area knows the temp can change quickly. The weekend of the FF usually is a temp change for us, nearly every year. Do not let warm weather fool you. Bring some long pants in case it gets cool at night or early a.m. Temps been running around 66 in a.m., and at night. Food, .. we have a well stocked concession all weekend. There will be such a crowd this year I suggest your own table and a canopy too if you have one. Our covered pit area will not take care of everyone, but it has been that way for a long time. Vendors will take most of official pit area I am sure. If the weather holds out, you will have a very nice area to pit in anywhere you choose along the event.
Mosquitos will sometimes show up, so not a bad idea to bring some repellant just in case, but they were not bad or even seen last week at sundown at the field.

The Executive Inn deadline for your 49.99 room rates expire after this Friday, and no guarantee of the blocked room I contracted with them on. They also own Days Inn across the street and can put you there also. The 11th this Friday is last day blocked rooms for us are there. From what I understand there are a few still available, and info on this is on first page of event postings...

I hear ya, Joe. I plan to hang around Bert Kammerer a little bit on Friday and learn all I can about the OS .55 and what to expect with my existing setup, including my Hatori BW Special pipe.

If you're an electric flier, a generator or deep cycle marine battery is a good idea too. I'll have my Honda 1000W generator there.

Hi Alan, that sounds like a good idea. I have also ask Bert about doing a seminar and he has agree to do it. I am trying to decided if we should have a seminar with 3 or 4 of the pros at the same time or individual seminars.

I do not want to schedule these seminars and only have a limited amount of interest in them. So I might combined them.

However, I think that Curtis probably has enough interest with all of his new products that he can do one by himself.

I also have Nathan and Ron down for a auto rotation seminar and setup

Nic Maxwell might also do a seminar as well as Bert Kammerer and I have ask a couple more of the pros if they want to do short 25 to 30 minute question and answer seminars. I think it will be very informative for everyone attending.
