Please everyone be mindful of my initial intentions of this post. It was NOT to bash the VBar/Mikado, in fact, I really like the Vbar. Because of the Vbar I will NEVER build my helis with a traditional flybar again. I just wanted to know and log any similarities between problems or known bugs AND the possible resolution(s) so we can either get them fixed (hopefully some Mikado reps are reading this) or avoid the known bugs all together if it's a configuration change we need to set. I want my investment in this product to improve or get resolved not devalued and/or defaced. That's all, nothing else.

Please don't let this thread become a bashing thread. Please keep it to awareness and information. Please provide only the facts of your issue(s) in this thread.

Post containing suggestions ARE appreciated, such as MrMel's static suggestions. While they did not explain the issues did help eliminate that possibility or variable.

I hope I haven't pissed anyone off or if I'm off base let me know and I'll close the thread to avoid any damage to a products name or reputation.

So far I see the problems users are having are:

1. Tail/Rudder servo letting go at a certain set point

Resolutions / workaround: TEMPORARY FIX find maximum value before Servo gets forceless, then set limit below that number.

2. Tail/Rudder loosing control after switching flight modes (my issue)

Resolutions / workaround: Not sure, may have been related to issue #1. Possibly avoid switching banks or limit to only in a hover. Only time will tell. Maybe someone will have the same issue and post here.

3. Weird 2nd flight / cold weather anomaly (I have witness this in person)

Resolutions / workaround: None. Further testing needs to be conducted.

The Factory rep that I mentioned earlier is one of the top ten pilots in the world. If I mentioned his name you'd know him without a doubt. He was amazed to see the new model Vbar that the guy who trashed his T600n had because he was under the impression they were going to get them to thrash before any were were released retail. Not so apparently.
...if that 600N was mine that you saw, the sensor fell off. I was using double sided tape

The fix was using double sided rubber tape and a seatbelt

if im not blade bogging youll find me pack puffing

Ive got similar problems have not solved yet i loose tail after a minute or so of flight.
The tail piros at a steady speed and you cant stop it.
Hitting throttle hold and auto down with forward speed stops tail spinning.
On the ground all appears ok.
Checked all wiring plugs etc retested flys great for a minute or so and then tail lets go again.
Certainly keeps you on your toes.
Machine setup
Trex 600 nitro
spectrum 2.4
scott grey reg
8717 cyclick
jr8900g on tail
Black plastic sensor (latest)
End points on tail servo at 58.
Thinking of trying another sensor.
Cheers

What is your Endpoints in the tail setting? (in the Vbar program), make sure its not above 64 in any direction.
Also, save settings to a file try a coldstart/reset/factory reset and reload the file.

End points at 58 as posted for tail
The software hasnt been touched for at least ten flights and all has been great until this fault began.
I have a identical machine that i will swap sensor off as it appears to be a vibration time thing.

i'm pretty convinced it's your tail servo, i had seen 2 8900's display the same symptom one was mine on vbar and a friends on flybar. Both were replaced and problem solved, although i still have 3 8900's flying i now prefer the fut bls tail servo.
If you have an old tail servo lying around try it first, just remember to re-bind your system if spektrum.

Common sense may not be common after all

Finally got back to trying to solve this issue.

Test 1 Did a factory reset and cold calibration.

Test 2 Changed over sensor

Test 3 changed over vbar box

Test 4 changed over tail servo

All these new components are still on heli and fault still remains also tryed twisting up tail rotor to see if there was any slip on torque tube but all appears ok.

The only thing i can think of is wireing or plug might have to try changeing out reciever aswell.
Luckly i have a spare identical machine that i robbed parts out of for testing.
Cheers

a shot in the dark, what voltage are you running to the tail servo, if higher than 5.2-5.6 the servo may be overheating and go bonkers? I've seen tail sevo'swork better when running lower voltages i.e. 5.2v

Common sense may not be common after all

Found it at last.
Set up and bound spare reciever and still got same results.
Out of deperation i went back to basics twisting and pulling on things and then discoverd, if you held a lot of pressure on the tail rotor while working servo the carbon rod would slide in the sleeve that goes over the carbon push rod.
Kit i have installed is here. http://www.centuryheli.com/products...05&prtnm=CN2264
What was happening was the sleeve over the carbon rod would slide out and be loose, after i auto down i would work the tail left and right to see if tail was working.
This would drive the pushrod back into sleeve tight and appear to be all functioning until next flight it would work out again.(but not fall out.
Bearing in mind it takes a lot of pressure to hold tail and have rod slide out of the sleeve after the servo drives it back in.(the sleeves are tapered)

The sleeves were glued with thick CA so i was surprised it had let go might have to find another glue or maybe pin them.
Cheers

Sounds like the kind of problem that can go on for awhile and just drive you nuts trying to find it.
Glad you figured it out. Some epoxy might be a good idea.
